If God is all powerful, God could have created a universe with no evil.

The typical Christian reply to this is "God created us with free will, he can't force us to be good". But this doesn't make sense. Why didn't God create a universe with free will AND eternal goodness? It's a stupid system to say "You can't have free will and eternal goodness", because your so-called creator made that system, for which there could be a better one.

It might seem like a paradox to us - but surely not to an allegedly omnipotent being.

Therefore, God created a universe of suffering, when he could have created a universe with no suffering. A universe with no suffering, with free will, and perfect happiness. All contradictions reconciled by his omnipotence.

Therefore, God is evil.

P.S. Don't bother bringing silly stories about "Satan" into this. According to the Bible, God allowed Satan into the Garden of Eden.

This isn't about the mythology of the fictitious garden of eden.

This is about a being, who CLAIMS omnipotence, allowing suffering in a universe which he could make vanish in an INSTANT.

Christians cannot grasp this. So they hang on to stories about hell, sin etc. to try to cover their non-understanding. They tell themselves "We choose to do evil!" -- Well if your God is ALL POWERFUL, why didn't he create a universe in which it was IMPOSSIBLE for any evil to be done, while RETAINING the faculty of free will? This sounds impossible to us -- a contradiction -- but to an ALL POWERFUL being, is ANYTHING impossible? No. Therefore, your God made a bad system where you couldn't have no-evil and free will together. Therefore, your God is evil.

P.P.S

It seems Christians STILL aren't getting this. They're still replying "God didn't want robots".

Which part of omnipotence is difficult to understand? You're saying it's impossible for your God to create a universe where people could have free will and not commit evil acts? You're saying God cannot rise above that contradiction, and tailor a universe where these are NOT mutually exclusive? Then you're saying your God is LESS powerful than the rules of logic.

If your God made the entire universe, then God MADE THE SYSTEM. Please think outside the box people.

Christians will not be able to answer this question. The ideal of an all powerful, all knowing and all-benevolent god is incompatible with the concept of evil.

the 'free will' defense employed by religious types is insufficeint to explain both the amount of man-generated evil and the existence of catastrophic natural disasters that we experience in this world.

For natural disasters, take new orleans for example, it was a city placed firmly within the bible belt of the united states and it is safe to assume that most of the people wihtin that city were devoutly religious.

Still god did nothing to spar them from their fate. God answered none of the prayers of the people who were drowned in their attics.

Either god made the hurricane and killed thos epeople on purpose, which makes him evil, or he didnt know about or couldnt stop the hurricane, which makes him not much of a god, or he doesnt exist.

As for man made evil that too is gods fault. the mythology of the bible tells us that because of the incident in the garden of eden god has punished all subsequent generations of mankind with an urge and propensity to sin.

since we are burdened with this desire to sin by god himself, how can we not then blame all the sins we commit on god? Is it not god who made us sinful in the first place? Further more, did not God set up everything, from placing the apple in the garden to slapping us with a desire to sin, knowing everything that would happen?

God knew adam would eat the apple from the beginning because he is all knowing. If god is all knowing and all powerful there is no way he can escape blame for the sinful nature of mankind. This maikes him even more of a onstrous fgure when you take into account that be burns sinner for eternity, even though he himself made mankind sinful.

the whole thing is nonsense

God allows evil because he has set a time period on earth from one point to the other in which he would call out to humanity to CHOOSE good instead of evil. At the end of this time period all who have lived would face judgement. Those who chose evil (most people) will be destroyed. Those who chose good would live with God forever.

If you have told even one lie, or stolen one thing, or committed only one sin in your life, the Christian God says that you have fallen from his glory. You can only be restored to glory on HIS terms.

God is not evil, we are.

I notice that you seem to have singled out the Christian God in your rant. Why do you think that is? You haven't pointed out any of the supposed errors of other religions.

Have you ever considered that there are other worlds where free wil thinkers exist in harmony with God? Maybe earth is the place in the universe where things went wrong. The Bible talks about another realm where there is no evil. I would like to go there one day.

Do you think that string teory is a possibility? So there are other realms that exists right next to us, but we can't see them or move into them. Why is it people can believe these things (which I would have to say is probably the spirit realm), but can't believe the things in the Bible are true?

If you read the story of the Tower of Babel, you see that a united humanity was something God did not want. Today humanity is moving into globalism. Humanity once again is uniting for the cause of peace and unity. What kind of destruction could a united humanity wreak upon the universe when those humans have evil in their hearts? Human history proves that humanity is wicked. And don't tell me that most wars have been fought over religion. This is a lie that is used for an excuse to hate Christians and Jesus.

Did the Babylonian empire fight and expand over religion? What about the Greek? Roman? Chinese? Japanese? Mongolian? Hitler (new-ager, not Christian, although allied with heretic Catholic Church)? Mau? PolPot?

The only religions that can truely be blamed for war are humanism (such as marxism) and Islam. You mih=ght be able to throw the Catholic Church in there too, but they aren't Biblica Christians, and the crusades were about land (the excuse was religion).

All systems fail, given enough time. 'God' in the jewish bible, has two names: one representing eternity and the other representing judges or magistrates. The particular name used is critical to the comprehension of the OT passages! Over the long haul, the 'Eternal' is the ultimate and all-knowing 'God'. Eternity is not subject to temporal dichotomies, it nor does it lend itself to 'blame', nor does it follow patterns of logic or reason. However it does tend to answer questions by decision. And the only thing that is certain in the temporal realm is change of specifics, while the generals tend to remain constant, until a paradigm shift takes place. This says to us all that we should not be overly concerned about forms and systems, rather, we should concentrate on preparing ourselves for the major upheavals that must occur from time to time...evil or no, this is the truth.
In the NT 'God' is represented by one term, the greek word 'Theos'. It corresponds to the hebrew 'Elohim', the one that denotes 'judges', or 'magistrates'. The other name is forbidden to pronounce and is wisely omitted from the christian scriptures. The muslim 'Allah' is closely related to
'Eloi' and has the same essential meaning: 'Judge'. Again, they wisely omit the other sacred name.

In the beginning God completely sustained His creation without blemish. That’s why it was perfect. He held every atom together in a perfect state. He kept the planets in their orbits. He kept animals from tripping and breaking their necks. He did not allow people to suffer and die.
Deuteronomy 8:4 gives us a little glimpse of how things might have been in the original creation. “Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.” God is omnipotent and perfectly capable of sustaining and protecting his creation.
When Adam sinned, however, the Lord cursed the universe. In essence there was a change and along with that change God seemingly took away a little bit of his sustaining power and allowed things like suffering and death into His creation. Now He permits bad things to happen—and this is a reminder that sin has consequences and that the world needs a Savior. Romans 8:22 says, “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.”

God took pleasure in all of His creation ("http://bible.gospelcom.net/bible?passage=revelation+4:11&version=NKJV"), but He loved people most of all. He allowed the created universe to deteriorate so we would see the consequences of our sin. If we did not see the consequences of our sin, we would never see that we need salvation from our sin, and we would never accept His offer of mercy for our sin. Most people easily recognize that there is a problem in the world. This can be used to show them that there is one who has overcome this problem of death and suffering—Jesus Christ.

The Garden of Eden was that perfect world that God created.

God created a universe without evil, but man disobeyed God and chose evil. God didn't want robots. God wanted man to choose Him and obey Him because they love Him. God created man for His pleasure and man chose to believe that old serpent instead of Him. Even today, men choose to believe the ways of the devil instead of the ways of God.

He did create a universe with no evil and then Satan decieded he should be worshipped and tricked Adam and Eve to sin against God.

God gave reign over earth to Satan. And he gave free will to man.

You haven't read and studied the bible or prayed about it for the truth to be revealed to you or you wouldn't come to this conculsion. It is not as black and white as you are trying to make it. And it can't be explained or shown in a simple answer to a foolish question.

God doen'st allow evil or their would be no consquences.

God is love not evil. If he were evil he would not had sent his only begotten son to earth to die for you and allow you to get off so easily by merely accepting him. That is love.

Man was given a choice by His creator. He came to Understand evil when he first chose his wife over his Creator by disobeying a simple command.
Because of love, Our Creator wanted man to come freely to Him. Not by Cohersion .
The same way as in marriage a man wants a woman to be his wife because she love him out of her own free will.
A religion which forces you to believe by cohersion in a god of their own making is not of God. But a different god which the New Testament calls the "Prince of the Power of the Air". he is the source of all evil and those who bow to him are easily recognized by their works. There is an Anti -Christ in the world who deceives people even by religion.
So because of sin suffering resulted. And because of Sin death came upon all men.,And after death Judgement.
However ;Our Creator gave us a way out. Healing of the Soul and eternal life thru Our Messiah who paid the penalty of our sin, and we are justified by faith in Him and have Eternal life in Heaven with Him ,Which is the Lord and saviour Jesus our Meshia(Christ).
Life is not easy and there is suffering and illness but to Him that overcomes there is a great Reward.
God is just and not Evil, But is a loving God who loves His Creation that he sent his Son that whosoever who believe in Him would have eternal life.

God is not evil. God created humans and gave them a brain. And let them use it properly. You think God has no power over Satan? God could kill Satan in a minute. But its like a contest. to see who will go who's side.
