Look closely at the video. Even though the child DRANK from the cup, the TSA GUARD made an issue of the liquid in the cup. Flammable liquids are POISONOUS to humans...HELLL-OOOOOUHHHH!!! Common sense should have, but wasn't displayed by the TSA GUARD.

But Mom, justifiably annoyed at the TSA GUARD, expressed anger towards them. Enter the pissing contest: Mom vs. TSA--which escalates fast w/ each second passing....and the TSA GUARD strained to maintain professional composure.

Mom may have gotten out there by angrily spilling the water out of the cup....but TSA GUARDS were no better, making her clean up the spill.

The proper course of action would be to demand to again see the woman's law enforcement credentials, make note of them, write an Incident Report on the matter and forward that report to her supervisor. TSA could even deny the Mom flight access altogether--but events did not actually call for such action.

I see how hastily TSA covers their @SS on this one....but they were no better--bottom line. They're TSA GUARDS until they behave better and become OFFICERS.

Why should we be mad at the TSA officers who were just doing there job? Fine, let's admit it, the system isn't perfect, but at least authorities are implementing rules that try to protect everybody from harm. The lady who is now coming out that she was harassed by the TSA officers should be the one kicked in the head. The rules apply to everyone, so what if she had a kid along, she can't give us that reason why the TSA shouldn't suspect her of being a threat. If she's so darn irritated of having to travel with a child, she should've hired a nanny to take along the trip. She shouldn't throw tantrums and expect people to take her crap. We all know she didn't slip, so she should stop insisting that she did, we saw it in the video and it wasn't an accident.

I'm glad she got her just desserts and wiped the airport floor.

Regarding the Sippy Cup incident, the stupid lady who dumped the water from the cup onto the floor should have been banned from the airport. The TSA agent was shown, on security tape, to have done his job properly and the lady was just arrogant and annoyed at being told she could not take her child's full water cup through security.

The lady then tried to sneak through security. She should have been arrested.

Regarding the cigarette lighters, READ THE SIGNS AT SECURITY. It states that lighters are not allowed. If you or your daughter are so brain-dead you do not realize you have lighters, you should be confined to a home for incompetents.

The TSA sippy cup incident makes me want to punch the Secret Service mother in the head. She knows the rules. If not, they told her the rule but because she is a high and mighty government employee (or former employee, I forget which), she thinks she is above what everyone else has to adhere to. Then, she shows her true intelligence and superiority by dumping the water on the floor, thereby endangering others. I'm glad they let her show what an idiot she is by throwing her temper tantrum and making her wipe up every drop. If she has any sense at all, she is mortified at her own behavior and will be forever shamed that there is video proof that proves she is a big fat liar (she claims she "spilled" the water).

I find that quite offensive, I myself was at one time a TSO and I belive that they where just doing there job. For god sakes it's a $2 sippy cup if you have to throw it out big deal. The way she was so defient makes it her mistake. The TSO was just trying to do their job. It's not like the TSO just grabbed the sippy cup and threw it in the garbage. Why don't you quit criticizing the system and be thankful that the actions are being taken to make us safer. Sure, it is not perfect. Sure, it is a pain in the butt. I travel weekly for work, and I don't mind the inconvenience because I am thankful that the actions are being taken to make us safer. You can sit there and whine and laugh and point fingers, but in the end, even your ignorant self is being protected. Why not get off of your butt and offer constructive solutions to the security problems rather than be a Sunday morning quarterback and point out the negatives.

I recently flew, and was half asleep and inadvertatly just put my cig lighter in my carry on. They found it in the xray, searched my whole bag, and threw it out. Yet the girl I was traveling with had TWO in her purse and they didnt say a word. Had them on the plane all the way.
Sippy cup? What in the world is the big deal?
