Sounds like the perfect party for 12 year olds. Do supervise them of course (they are not too old to be supervised, especially around a pool and if both boys and girls are involved). Have a lot of fun!

Happy Birthday to your son. I'll be 47 on June 23rd. I plan on having a party. You're never too old to have a party. Even if it's just having a few friends and family over for cake and ice cream. I plan on having an ice cream cake, a cooler, dinner out and going to see the new Stephen King movie on saturday with a few friends. Now that's my idea of a birthday party. Hope that what ever you and your son decide to do on Saturday he has a great time. I know I'll be having fun. I'll raise my cooler and toast the 12 year old boy from yahoo answers that is sharing my birthday. Again I'd like to say Happy Birthday to you son. June 23rd is a great day to be born on. End of the school year, beginning of summer and two months off to enjoy it. Have a great summer.

No he isn't too old for this. I think it is a great idea to have him a pool party. I will be turning 31 also on June 23rd, and my family is planning a dinner party with cake and ice cream for me and I can't wait. I think as kids turn into teens they don't necessarily want the kiddie party with lots of family and cake and ice cream and balloons with brightly colored presents sitting all over. But they still want to enjoy a few hours with their friends and close family doing something fun, a few presents (and at this age they don't care if it is wrapped at all) teen food, like pizza and hot dogs and an ice cream cake . Good luck with your party. Your son has a great parent.

It's never to young to have a party.... you just have to adapt the theme/things you do at the party to an age appropriate level. It sounds like you have a pretty good idea for a party for a 12 year old. I say go ahead and do it! Your son and his friends will have a blast! I mean, I'm 28 and I still love pool parties! lol! =)

you're never too previous for a birthday party! you purely would desire to play video games geared for a distinctive crowd. Pool events are super for any age, and you'd be able to never bypass incorrect with cake and ice cream. At 12, i think of a themed cake could be slightly a lot so i could stay faraway from the clown cake this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. an incredible sort of music, warm canines and hamburgers...do no longer ignore the chips and soda. all people would have a mind-blowing time!

He is not to old to have a birthday party! I think everyone, no matter what age, should be able to have a birthday party. I am 14 and I still have parties. Good Luck and have fun!

Well, a friend of mine had her first surprise birthday party a couple years ago- she was turning 31....

Birthday parties are for people who have birthdays. This one that you have planned sounds great. I agree with the supervision thing of course, but it sounds like you have a great time planned!

too old for a birthday party! never!

it is totally NOT uncool to hang out with ur mates at home and talk crap and have certified reason to gorge on junk and have no-one say 'that's enough chocolate for today' or 'ease up on that soft drink'! I say go for it.

i'm a little biased though. my birthday is the first birthday for summer and everyone practically begged me to have a party just to get together as school finished. Good times!

Run it by him. We had a big 10th birthday party for our oldest (long story, and my battery is running low, so I can't get into it), but we decided that 10 years old is like a "rite of passage" and at that point it's up to the child to let us know things. Granted, we have girls, but we let them make decisions of magnitude. We make them tell us when they think they need a haircut, when they need clothes, etc. Like I said, it's different with girls, but it's just an idea. We also decided that because we had such a big party for her at 10, she will probably get another small party at 13, and another big bash at 16, and possibly 18? Good luck.
