Yes. The Thessalonian Christians were apparently very concerned about their Christian loved ones who had died. They expressed their concern to the apostle Paul. So, in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, Paul deals with the "dead in Christ" and assures the Thessalonian Christians that there will indeed be a reunion. And yes, believers will recognize their loved ones in the eternal state.
We are told in 2 Samuel 12:23 that David knew he would be reunited with his deceased son in heaven. He had no doubt about recognizing him. As well when Moses and Elijah (who had long passed from earthly life) appeared to Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration (Mat 17:1-8), they were recognized by all who were present. Furthermore, in Jesus' story of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31, the rich man, Lazarus, and Abraham were all recognized by each other in the intermediate state.

If you believe then he will.

Response to #3. That all depends on what you do and how you behave before you die. What you believe in and establish in your thoughts is created in what you do and how you behave.

If there is a question in assumptions 1 & 2 then you must have that discussion with your dad after you pass on, die, keal over, go into the light or what ever you do when you do what you do.

The mind is a terrible thing to lose. It can do strange, wonderful and horrible things. When a person is drunk or on drugs, he is certain his hallucinations are real. When a person concentrates on something, like the impending death of a person he/she loves, the mind can also cause hallucinations, like believing the person's ghost or spirit is visiting to say goodbye.

Having said that, if you believe in heaven and that good people go there and if you're a good person, there's no reason to disbelieve that your father will meet you at the Pearly Gates. Say "hi" to him for me.

You are a spirit (look just like your body, you have hair, eyes, ears etc.) and you live in a body (Earth-suit, you fit exactly into your body).
We (spirits) are invisible inside of our body's.
Yes, your dad will see YOU when you get to Planet Heaven.
Heaven is a Planet, Earth is a copy of Planet Heaven but got messed up.

The Father GOD is on Planet Heaven, running the Universe (pumping power into it to keep it going--where do you think those little etsy bitsy tinny weenie atoms thingy's get the power to keep on spinning!
Ditto..............you have to Believe in Jesus (Who HE said HE was) and ask HIM to Save you (Recreate you, a spirit living in a body--what we call getting Saved or Born-Again) to Make it to Heaven.

Religion cannot Recreate you.
Jesus ( The Creator) CAN!

Ditto..............Jesus can expand time in the last few seconds of someones Death and give him,her another Chance to be Saved (invisible spirit inside of visible body is Recreated and taken to Heaven when it comes otta' the Body for Good (what we call death).

yes, he will. there's a hint of this in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus at the gate. the rich man ignored Lazarus who was a beggar at the city gates, until the day came they both died. the rich man went to hell, Lazarus went to heaven. the rich man recognized Lazarus up in heaven. the parable goes on to with the rich man asking Jesus to have Lazarus bring him some cool water, and he's told that those in heaven can't cross over to those who are in hell, and then the rich man wants to send Lazarus to warn his brothers to change their ways so they don't wind up in hell, too, and is told that they have the scriptures to guide them, and the decision how they lead their lives (free will) is theirs to make.

Heaven is very small, so you two will meet up eventually if you are both there.
(It's about the size of Elko, Nevada; far smaller than the Jehovah's Witnesses' 144,000 -- how did they ever come up with that figure anyway?)

Assuming the bottom two (number one is affirmative) are true, then yes. The Bible says we will all recognize each other.

You don't need a body to be you.

Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don
