Your question could not have come at a more appropriate time. Like you, my father is also dead. He passed back in 2000 but I will always miss him. A year after that, my mom died and so Mothers and Fathers Days are very tricky for me. I guess the good thing is this - both of them fall on Sundays. I always go to church and because I play the piano for our services, I am always singing and being happy sometimes when my heart may not feel like it but there is something about the love of Jesus and how He knows us and how much we hurt, especially on these days, that he seems to wrap his arms around us even more and shows us his 'fatherly and brotherly and motherly' love. I will pray for you today that you will have more strength and courage to deal with his death and realize that he is not really gone -and you will see him again. Be blessed in the Lord today. You know - t here is something you can do to always keep him alive - plant something in the park (a plant, a tree) something that you think you can afford and use this as a remembrance to your dad. In any case, to those who have lost their fathers - it is still Father's Day and you can take this time to memorialize your precious father in love.

sorry i wish you peace i understand what you feel! my dad died in Feb 2001 and my mom just died on the 2nd of June-- and being fathers day i miss them both but will always have them in my heart---tell you what to do there must be something you and your dad did that was just something for the two of you? Like fishing or dinner at a fav restaurant a ride in the country to a fav place! Try honoring his memory by doing that by yourself or someone you love---you will feel closer to him and remember the love you shared---it helps!

I am so sorry to hear that. I haven't seen my dad since
April but I'm seeing him next week and believe me,
I can't wait. And it's sad that you won't see your dad
but you at least have some very good memories with
him. I can see that you love him very much. And all you
can do at this time is think about him and remember
all the good times you had together.
