I have been going to Spain for 40 years and they seem to speak better English than we do! Most want to practise their English any way, just find a few words for the food and drink in case. Ask your hotel for a card, then if you need a taxi home, you just show the driver the card. I take one of those little gadgets which translates, a bit like a calculator and it works fine. The trick is to speak slowly and carefully. Be very polite and always start with. 'Excuse me, do you speak English'. I have picked up enough Spanish over the years to get by if I have to but remember, you are spending money and they want it, they will communicate! Enjoy and do not worry.

Malaga is beautiful - you will love it. I've been there. I'm sure you'll get to see La Alhambra in Granada. Wonderful. Not really an answer, but I had to mention it.

Just remember that in Spain the "s" "c" sounds are pronounced like "th"...Espana is "Ethpana"
