I saw this video on Godtube and I thought I was watching a take off of the story of Superman and how he came to earth as a baby. I'm not a Mormon and I wanted to find out if there is any truth to what this video presents in regards to what Mormons are taught to believe.

I am LDS and I have never been taught that. Even though I watched only the first minute of it, I could tell that the cartoon is a perversion and a half truth of what I have been taught to believe and I know what I'm talking about since I was born into the church. We are taught that all of us lived together with God in heaven as spirits before we were born. We are not taught that God had multiple wives or anything like that. We believe what happened with the war in heaven where Lucifer took off with 1/3 of the spirits in heaven, but that's pretty much it. The war in heaven story is supported in the Bible by the way in Revelations Chapter 12 I believe, so it's founded in doctrine that all Christians accept.

God created Jesus Christ as his spirit son just like the rest of us, thus making us his brothers and sisters as children of God.

Basically that's the short summary of it, no multiple wives mentioned at all. There is mentioned sometimes that we have a Heavenly Mother (singular) but there is no revelation on that so we can only assume but there is nothing on it so the Church really doesn't use that as a teaching tool at all.

Don't know where you found that cartoon from but I would advise you to go to the real source for any questions that you might have. The worst thing you can do when asking questions about Mormons is ask someone from a different religion. If you do that, you will most likely get something that is half true but not the whole truth.

Go to lds.org from now on so you can get answers to any questions you might have. I hope this helps!

God (whatever his name is now) is the literal father of your spirit (unless that changed after 2006) and you are the offspring of a union between one of an uncountable number of 'wives'.

God held a Council in Heaven and commented, "These spirits are dopes - what shall we do?" Lucifer said "Make them mortal and I'll bring 'em all back, if I can have the credit." Jesus said, in a particularly suck-up manner, "Make them mortal, confuse the living sh!t about who god is, then I can get tortured and die agonizingly, yet praise and worship you all the time". God said, "Like I said before, you're all dopes, but I'll go with the second suggestion. It's more my style."

Thus Adam and Eve were created and told to replenish the earth. When they ask how to do that exactly, God said, "Don't eat the apple.....heh, heh".

Now we are 6 billion strong, and have suffered only two biblical genetic 'bottlenecks', one at the Beginning, and one after the Noachian Flood. More spirit babies are awaiting the copulation process so they can be mortal, suffer and die, unless they become mormons and get a swell SUV and a house in the suburbs in the process.

Really. Okay, I paraphrased, but this story takes volumes.

It's pretty close to what I've been told by Mormons. The LDS leaders goes to great lengths to keep their public image clean, and doesn't broadcast much except music (good music). But the average Mormon does get out into the world. It's sad, really.

The missionaries can help coach lots of those techniques and factor out their foundation interior the Bible. however, there are a number of stuff that are no longer spelled out interior the Bible, yet are the end results of revelation the place God is development on the scriptural archives we could bypass His artwork forward. understand regardless of the incontrovertible fact that that frequently human beings are not waiting for what you have chanced on. whether it has introduced you lots exhilaration and peace they could no longer be waiting to take exhilaration in, or perhaps desire the stories you have had. those stories in undemanding terms are available in my opinion to us from God. Even the missionaries will probable draw a line someplace approximately proving each and every thing biblically on your chum. you return right down to lots of the comparable issues Joseph Smith had himself whilst he stated, "for the lecturers of religion of the various sects understood the comparable passages of scripture so in yet differently as to wreck all self assurance in settling the question via an attraction to the Bible." many cases it comes right down to interpretation, and one is merely left to have faith the witness that has come from the Holy Ghost. do no longer undertaking, the solutions will come. that is nice to stand the inconsistencies that look to exist on your recommendations with desperate faith. you will locate super and straightforward truths approximately your Father in Heaven, and your Savior and their love for you. I even have been blessed with thought from the Holy Ghost many cases that has cleared up my confusion. in specific cases the main conflicting cases are incredibly the wrapping around a chic and maximum advantageous fact which will make you ask your self why you probably did no longer see it until now. Sorry, i haven't incredibly given what you asked, however the assumption right it fairly is which you would be able to attempt to formulate arguments and locate scriptural help until your blue interior the face, yet merely as many rejected Christ, so will some reject His gospel at present regardless of any sort of miracles they see, until they're waiting and keen to work out. you may locate some help from the missionaries, bishop, and contributors close to you. Such issues are ultimate dealt with in individual, and by the years.

In the 70's the war in heaven went something lik this...the counsel in heaven, satan's plan was to force everyone to come back by making them do what was right, jesus plan was to give everyone freewill. God liked jesus plan and that made satan mad, so satan rebelled. God's kids who fought with Jesus were born with white skin, those that could not decide whose side to fight on were born with half white skin, like the indians or Asians, and those that sided with satan were born with black skin, but they changed the whole story and now the nuetrual people are the black skinned people.

Remember; Elohym is a PLURAL Hebrew term; not singular. (btw; I am not Mormon currently). Often, in English it is translated God in English; (family) not (individual).

Most of them dont know enough about their own theology to successfully answer you. The church keeps a lid on most of the really wacky stuff.
