my grandaughter is 1 1/2 yrs old...she is pulling her hair out and putting it on her thumb then sucking on it

This is a form of pica like eating dirt. I suggest seeing a child psychologist for testing.

Hi, even my son used to do this thing for a while.. ..the difference is that it was my hair rather than his.. he had this habit till he was about 2 and a half years...after that he gradually stopped it..Whenever i tried to forcefully take it back he would pull the hair more aggressively.....
