My mother put me on medication when I was a young child to improve my appetite. I've been overweight since I was a teenager, and now I'm 65.

I get into a lot of problems when I start to practice law and medicine. People seem to believe that the Internet has some global exemption to that rule. Consult your pediatrician, the real one, one that can look at your son. Pay attention and follow his directions.

You should take him to a pediatrician immediately and find out if there is an underlying medical condition. There are shakes for kids you can buy called pediasure which has plenty of nutrition and calories that will help beef him up, give him three of these a day. They are a little expensive. If you can't afford it seek some financial assistance. I think WIC pays for this with a doctor's recommendation. Also make him several healthy snacks a day, keep them with you when you aren't home so you can give him something like a pudding pack, or fruit cup. When my son was that age I always had 100% juice boxes, raisins, fruit snacks, that kind of thing on hand no matter where we were. His weight was always on target for his age. Hope this helps but you really should take him to the pediatrician also for more direction on this!

I have the same problem with both of my sons.... They are both very active. One is 1yr. and 3yr. I've been to the pediatrician and the a specialist... There's nothing wrong with them they are just small/skinny children. Also, I cook for my children, we rarely eat junk food. I think nowadays with children being overweight that the "charts" are unbalanced. Children eat way too much junk food and sugary snacks See a specialist and if your child is healthy don't worry, just keep pumping, healthy food into him whenever you can.... I always have raisins, yogurt, 100% juice, apples. I give m son(s) 3 main meals and atleast two snacks... I make them smoothies and I put yogurt/frozen berries and banans... Or full fat ice cream...

Take him to Golden Corral. Don't leave him in the bathroom alone, though.
