Always plenty of jobs in Cairns - don't worry about that !
If you have the $ to spend, yes go through an agency, if not chance it, he'll be employed within a week.

If he still enjoys the work he was doing in the RAF, speak to Defence Recruiting to see about a transfer to the RAAF (or another service). They're phone number is 13 19 01 or their website is www.defencejobs.gov.au.

Anyone with recognised trades qualifications shuld have no problem getting a job in their area. Other employment websites we use here are:
www.mycareer.com.au
www.seek.com.au
You can browse by region and employment section in each

no don't leave things to chance, iv'e been to cairns , it's quite a small town and caters very much towards the tourist industry, but if your husband has qualification's in his work he will stand a good chance of finding work, he would be wise to do a job search with the australian authorities,he will have more luck and be properly advised!! good luck, ps cairns is a great place to be!
