I have been a Christian for 37 yrs. My first 4 yrs. I did have somethings in the bible that I did not understand,& the church I went to then, But in 1974 God placed me in another church, & it has been 33 yrs, since then, & to this day I have not found one thing they teach that is not truth.

If the religion involves a package deal -- all or nothing -- that would itself be a problem for me. For many, the problems would be as much political as religious. Well, they seem like nice people, but they tend to the left (or the right), that sort of thing. For me, any religion that expected me to recite a creed, and claim I believe this or that, when I don't know if I do or not, would be anathema.
I'm not much of a joiner of groups. I have been going to Ethical Society meetings for the last few weeks because it is not a religion, at least not as most people use that term. No creed, no prayers, no holy books, no supernatural aspect. Just people who believe it is important to be ethical: to care. Humanists, I think they call themselves, but I don't even stand firm on that term. And they don't seem to mind the fact that I am a witch, although it is possible they don't know.

Thank God, I'm with my religion, but I notice that some religions are getting seen in the wrong way, one being Islam. Islam is so peaceful, but people use the terrorism out there to go against. God doesn't want us hurting eachother/killing eachother, the Quran mentions many times how God wants us to help one another.
Also, many people complain that our religion has "too many rules." When you think about, don't we need these kind of rules. For example, Islam forbids drugs/alcohol as well as tatoos. Don't you think that these rules help people and not hurt them? Islam in my eyes guides us on the right path. You do whatever you feel is best.

Looking for a religion! thank everyone! Most religions teach peace, of which there should be more of in the world.
Whatever religion you are flirting with most religions depend on faith. Faith is not science: you don't always need to understand the workings of chemical compounds to be able to take medecine, if it does good for you, take it.
Religion should be the region of joy, not hate which I see so often...

Hello Calmness. One thing I want to say that Religion is one thing you want to stay away from... but, Christianity is what you want to hunger after.. The Bible, Jesus. The only thing I would suggest is trying a place around you found in the yellow pages called Non-denominational; like Assemby of God, but most non-denominational churches have their own name.. something like Safe Haven, or The Little Chapel, or something like that. Another important thing to look for in a church is the way they worship the Lord and the way they sing. Worshiping God with all your heart. King David danced before the Lord as he worshiped God. The disciples were anointing with the Holy Spirit and spoke in a heavenly language. That is what you are looking for. This is the truthful way to learn about Jesus, to meet Him, to worship Him. Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life." He also says, "Trust in the Lord, with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path." You will find Jesus in the Bible. I will keep you in prayer. I'm have Yahoo360, or see my profile for e-mailing me. I will help you in any way I can. God bless you and I pray you make the right choice.
