It was Prophet Muhammed who taught Muslims how to pray.

He taught muslims how to do everything from praying to doing business in the market. He came with a law system so complex that any logical person would realise has to be divine. Goverments need 100s of men to decide these type of things now. Wasting taxpayers money to chop and change and reverse decisions they made just a couple of hours ago. Not only that, he taught mankind how to deal with their family, neighbours, community, enemies and whole lot more. Check Michael Harts 100 most influential people in history. This is why the people still want this system now 1400 years after it was revealed. Because it is natural to the human disposition. Goverments are corrupt and have their own interests and ulterior motives and want the masses kept in poverty. And then you have these poor people who hate Islam. Whose every other word is foul and who probably cant sleep because of substance abuse. The world today huh?

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. "You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? "Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them." (Matt. 7:15-20)

In case you havent noticed Islam is the fastest growing religion. And were not in dispute about whether you can have gay priests or not.

The obligatory movement of the Prayer came in the Quran such as reciting the Quran, bowing, prostrating.

Then the Angel Gabriel gave further details, like how to make ablutions, what time is prayer valid etc.

This was then passed onto the companions by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself.

Then passed onto the next generation and then onto the generation that recorded all these details and these works reach us now, in this time.

Did He teach Men and women equally how to pray. It a hard question considereing of what is happening today.
The One who taught how a sinner is to pray Was written in the Gospel of Yeshuah ha meshia(The Lord Jesus Christ). Not only did He teach how to pray(The lord's prayer)but most of all how to listen.
Prayer is talking to Our Creator but most important is to listen to what He says.Successfull communication is a two way proposition. How can one Know His will if one does not listen.

Muhammed (pbuh) told his companions (may Allah (swt) be pleased with them) : Pray as you see me praying.

In the Koran, it says that Jibreel [Gabriel] lead the first prayers.

People couldn't see Gabriel, but followed what Mohammad did.

There is another version that claims that Ibrahim [Abraham] taught the salat to his children and it was passed down from there, though.

Hope this helps.
