Occasionally I have a problem with my feet which feels as if there is a string pulling on all my tendons/muscles and my foot just locks. It is incredibly painful and the only way to get rid of it is to put pressure on my foot and "pop" it out of the position. I usually get it if my toes bend too far, i.e if Im walking up stairs or have stood on an uneven surface.

Does anyone know what this is called and how it can be helped.

This is a foot cramp and can be caused by a whole variety of reasons. You are dealing with it in the best way at the time. See a doctor about this one, as it is too difficult for us to tell. Not simple.

It could be many things - ask a doctor.
