I'm a Catholic too . 45 years . Here's my assessment . Mostly because I live in a rural area , I go to a non-denominational Christian church . I do have a couple Catholic churches within the area , but they're much further away . And I only even considered going to a non-denominational church because years ago my church(Catholic) got a liberal priest who tried to appease everyone , whatever the cost . I disagreed and looked for something more traditional . I still have my core Catholic beliefs , but there's no doubt that many of the protestants get the message out more clearly and actively .
I Love my current church and pastor . He doesn't water things down , and pulls no punches . I really like that .
I would suggest that she re-examine why she wants to make this change and reflect and pray for resolution .

Bottom line is : 'Go To Jesus' . Be faithful and show no scorn for her previous church if she does make the change .

ask your self this question, is the religion that im in does the things that is written in the bible? jesus says: u will know his disciples cause they will have love among themself! at john 13:35
so do your religion inspire people to love one another reguardless of race or nationality or do they preach love but send people off to war kill people that might even be in the same religion

Examine further. Whether the religion that you have been taught is the true one can also be determined by its attitude toward the world. Jesus Christ showed the proper position of true worshipers when he said: “They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.” (John 17:16) The true religion, therefore, obeys these Scriptural instructions and keeps separate from the world. Does your religion do so? Or is it an integral part of the world and its politics?

just think about that and find the religion that does these things

If you feel the catholic church is wrong, then you should go where you feel the Bible teaches you must go-somwhere that preaches the truth. I know it will be hard (going elsewhere), but keep talking to your mother and try to get her to see your point of view. She may be ok with it, then come with you. Maybe this time you can set an example for her, as she has set a wonderful example through your life (you obviously care about others, etc). This is an important decision with eternal consequences. To go elsewhere to worship would be best for you and eventually your mother eternally speaking.

I don't agree with catholic or baprist teaching so please take a look at these:

Quit shouting, we can hear you!

This is confusing. And perhaps that is the point; you are indeed confused. But with any Christian church, if you want to join, you just go to their services and then talk to the minister or priest after the service. It's not hard at all, because they want to be actively welcoming to newcomers. Most non-Christians are also welcoming to newcomers, as well, but I haven't been to them all, so I couldn't say.

If you want to know more before you go to a service, just look them up in the phone book. Chances are there will be someone on the other end of the phone line that can answer your questions or direct you to someone who can.

If you've been a Catholic for 50 years, you are at least 50 years old. Time you realized you do not need your mother's permission to do something. She won't like it if you convert, of course, but you cannot always make that the deciding factor in your decisions.

First of all, Catholic and Baptist are the same religion, though I know some Protestants that believe all Catholics are going to hell. Why would the person want to become a Baptist if they get more out of Masses? Did she mean more out of the Baptist service?
Baptists have no objection to their members attending Catholic Mass and I doubt that Priests have any real objection to Catholics attending Baptist services. If the mother is the concern, don't tell her. If she goes to the same Catholic church, then attend Mass with her and go to the Baptist service at a different time. I doubt that your soul would suffer, in fact, you might find you like it.

Religion is organized faith.
For me the important thing about religion is faith, not the organization.
Having faith in your god, whether your god is an omnipresent being, science, a stone idol or the sun, gives each of us strength and focus.
Whatever teaching you follow and where or how you choose to worship is all about personal preference. You (or your friend) should follow what feels right for you.
You should ask your mother to respect your religion even if you worship a pebble. You're faith in your god is as valid as her faith is to her.
Why cant we all just embrace each others faith, rather than mocking each others religions.

Jesus said that no one can go to the father except through him. Talk to her honestly. Tell her that you long for the forgiveness that only Jesus can bring. Read to her John 1, John 5 then John 14. This state clearly that is the way to the Father. You can not pray to Maria even if she was the Mother of Jesus. Jesus said you have to come to Him. Pray that she will understand your feelings and God Bless

I was a Catholic for 20-22 years before I left for the Protestant faith (particularly the Presbyterian faith). It was a disappointment for my family - but it was something that I had to do to be faithful to God.

I would get yourself under the preaching of God Word as soon as possible. If you have any additional questions, feel free to email me.

The way you look at it is wrong. Religion has nothing to do with god. Or what you belive is true or false, or right or wrong. Its about family, tradition, and belonging to a society. Its quite common for one religion to think a particular thing some other religion does is neat, and incorporate it into their own-You think the way baptists act in church is at all similar to the way it was 80 years ago? it wasnt. Maybe you should changing your church a bit, liven it up, im sure a lot of people would appreciate it.

If your friend is truly unhappy as a Catholic she should explore all avenues of worship. My family was all Catholic but I have new found faith as a Methodist. One God is the key. If you truly LOVE the Lord your place of worship will be secondary!
