You have a very good grasp of Karma, a good question, well posted....

Action and Consequence then, is acting in a positive way to achieve positive consequences or positive results.

This means to do things which will bring good results for other folks yet does nothing for ourselves. These positive things we do are really for other folks to enjoy the good results rather than enjoying good things for ourselves, this is because the things we do whether in thoughts, words or deeds will not be for selfish reasons but for others benefit.

If we do things which make us feel good only then this will result only in negative Karma, yet if we do things which make others feel good only then this results in positive Karma.

How then do we "Do good Karma..?"...why we do good things for others benefit with no thought for ourselves at all....for example...if we see a beggar on the street and we give him money, to do this with no thought for ourselves, we must let him spend the money as he sees fit, rather than as we see fit...for then he will truly be happy, for a time at least and there is no benefit for ourselves....

Peace from a Buddhist.....

Compassion is the key. Even for things within your own life, you can find the best thing to do by imagining that someone else is involved. And in the long run, someone else is always involved. Even though I live alone, if I keep my apartment reasonably clean, my neighbors don't have to worry about nasty smells or roaches, etc. Visitors don't have to be concerned for their health and safety. And my heirs will not have as much to cope with when I die.

Doing what you know to be right for practical reasons will generally get you good karma. Extending that to others is compassion. It does not need to be any more complicated than that.
