I asked an old friend to give me a call sometime...his response was "we'll see."
What is that supposed to mean?
I mean, if he's really not interested, why would he leave that door open?

He says he's not with another - but you all are right...he's just not into me.

He really should have just closed the door.

That means No, but he didnt want to be as blunt.

If he was interested he would have said "Yes OK" The door isnt open, its been closed, just not slammed in your face.

I don't mean to be rude but that usually means we'll see if what I'm doing at the present time works out and if it doesn't then we'll see if I can't give you a call. And he's leaving the door open just in case what he's working on doesn't work out. Good Luck!

It means he's just not that into you. He just said that because a) he thinks he has manners or b) he'll keep you in mind if his current booty call isn't available.
This guy is either totally not feeling you or thinks he's a mack daddy and wants to pull you on a string.
Don't give him another thought.

We'll see means "My finger is an another pie at the moment... We'll see if it works... If it doesn't I call you.."

I do not know him of course but this is my gut feeling...
