what brand of cameras do they use in studios for shooting for example news shows etc.?

Certain manufacturers have special broadcast division, or industrial divisions that cater to broadcast needs. Brands in the US are Sony, JVC, and Panasonic. Philips/Thompson make studio gear. Canon miniDV equipment is widely used by broadcasters but technically not produced for that purpose.

Because broadcast is such a small market, only manufacturers that produce for the consumer market have survived to continue with broadcast gear.
