I just got a 6 week old kitten on Friday. It is 5:00 on Sunday morning and my vet does not open until tomorrow. She has been having really loose poops, so I've been wiping her off afterwards. I noticed this afternoon that there looked to be a little red on the toilet paper. So, I've been watching her and just a moment ago she went again and there was blood. She pooped normally, then looked as if she were pushing one last piece out and it was really dark. I went over to check and sure enough, it was blood. Here is every detail (minor or otherwise) I can think of. I'm definitely going to the vet, but any ideas beforehand?
*I have to add it to additional details because there isn't enough room left to write it here *

*The humane society could not spay her because she does not weigh enough yet, so I have to take her back on the 3rd of July.
*Because of her weight, she also still needs her rabies shot (Shelter said everything else was done, shots, tests, etc.)
*I also have a 7 year old cat and a 6 year old dog who my kitty has already met today.
*She is drinking A LOT of water, I have filled the water dish twice today.
*She is eating well (mixing what she was eating at the shelter with new food in small increments)
*Her right eye seems irritated. It has a thick, clear liquid coming out of it and then drying yellowish.
*She is playing, purring, and loving normally.
*She is kept in the bathroom at night (to keep safe from other pets until I know everything will be fine), meows for a moment and then falls asleep.
*She is peeing and/or pooping about once every hour and a half or so (don't know if that's normal or not)

Please, if you have any ideas, let me know.

Just to clear up:
*I haven't actually wiped her, just blotted.
*The food she is on is kitten food. She was eating Iams at the shelter (which they gave me a bag) and now I'm adding a little bit of Purina One. . . both are kitten formula.

This happened to my cat and it was because of bladder and kidney problems, it is nothing to worry about though as she got it when she was a kitten and now she is 22! So it doesn't shorten their life. It could also be worms as kittens ca get this alot.
Hope your kitten gets better! ;)

Don't worry too much, kittens often have diarrhea and gastrointestinal problems, including blood. If it is clear red blood it shows some irritation, but serious intestinal problems with intestinal bleeding usually produce black stools. So, although she needs to be checked by a vet, because she may have panleucopenia, which is bad, chances are she just has what all the kittens I have rescued have had so far, which is gastrointestinals disorders. Feed her boiled chicken breast and a little rice for a few days, and see how it goes. Add 1 quarter of Canikur pills in her food, morning and evening. If it doesn't get better in 3-4 days she may need diarrhea medication.
Deworming also is essential.

Kittens need a LOT of sleep. Put her in the bathroom he sleeps in, with plenty of water and check on her regularly.

Make sure she is warm enough and has plenty of fresh air. If possible, make the room dim and quiet and try not to handle her.

If she messes herself, leave it for now ~ the vet will clean her up tomorrow.

I think maybe it would be better not to feed her any more for now ... or just a little every four hours or so.

Good luck and best wishes :-)

She could be getting sufficient fluids from the canned nutrition, kittens are tiny hence do no longer choose as plenty water as people or different older animals do quickly away. additionally shop the water clean, my cat is a finicky little element and wont drink water if its greater effective than approximately 6 or 7 hours old (little princess she thinks she is lol). nevertheless shop a watch on her however and if she stops ingesting take her to the vet. 6 weeks is particularly youthful for a cat to be faraway from its mom too, so she could desire to nevertheless be getting used to existence faraway from the abode she is acquainted with mutually as she settles into her new abode. shop the water out and clean for her, probability is she will commence ingesting whilst she desires to!
