No, you must turn the airbag off if you can. Otherwise put the baby seat in the back.
Airbags are extremely powerful and can cause injury if used incorrectly.

If you have a car that can disable the airbag and only in extenuating circumstances they can be in the front seat, but I would NEVER recommend it for everyday, casual driving or the "well, it's just easier" thing. In fact, some states, it is illegal to have a child under a certain age in the front seat. You need to push the seat all the way back and have them in their carseat, properly buckled. IF the carseat is rear facing, I wouldn't put them in the front at all. 95% of accidents are frontal or side impact crashes. The passenger airbag comes out at a force of 240mph ON TOP of the speed you were going when you hit or were hit. That would kill a child. If it were my child, I would have them in a proper carseat, in the backseat, middle seat. If you don't have a middle seat available, one of the outboard positions in the backseat are still WAAAY safer than the front seat ever will be.

Crashes are the leading cause of deaths and disabilities in children. I think I would take the risk of keeping MY child in the backseat for as long as possible!!!

No No No No No No No No, you shouldn't put a rear facing car seat into the front seat where an airbag is present.

It is illegal to use a rear-ward facing child restraint in a vehicle seat which is protected by an active front airbag in the U.K and has been from September 18th, 2006.

Deactivate the airbag or put the baby in the back (or walk or get the bus!!)

I was going to suggest that having your baby in hospital would be safer - but that has already been said!

I wouldn't risk baby in the front seat with an airbag - but that has already been said too.

One thing I will say is that someone said the safest place was in the middle of the back seat - but I wouldn't risk that one, either. There was a case a few years ago of a child being killed when a stone came through the windscreen and when straight through the little boys for-head killing him instantly.

There will always be a risk of when carrying a child in a car - you just have to work out the safest options.

Let me get on this merry bandwagon and say.....NO! Good on you for asking rather than doing, and finding out the hard way! If u disable the airbag, then yes, but with it active, it's unsafe. As others have pointed out, the airbag presents a huge threat to your baby. The backseat is the safest by far, and in the middle is even safer, but there is always a risk no matter where a child is restrained in the car. Good luck :)

No, unless you can turn off the airbag. Other than that, you cannot have your baby in the front seat.

Absolutely NOT! Read the instruction manual for the baby seat. If you were given one from a friend and do not have the manual then you can look up the web site of the manufacturer, enter the car seat details-you will get all the instructions you need.

NO u can not coz if anything was to happen i.e. an accident, the airbag is very likely to suffocate the child and so its much safer for the child to be in the back seat.

you can if it can be disabled (somecars have a key to turn off the passenger side airbag)but the rear seat is the safest place for them.

You can, if you want to go to jail as soon as a police officer sees you doing this.

or get your baby killed if you have an accident first, because airbags are designed for large adults.

You may not, if you want to obey the traffic laws.
