More info. is needed about your cat. Is she spayed, what age, any other pets,is she allowed outdoors etc? Is this a recent change in behaviour or has she always been this way?
The first thing you should do is take her to see a vet. As other people have said, she could have a urinary or bladder problem. It's true that if cats experience any pain when using the litter box, they do associate the box with the pain and stop using it in an effort to avoid any further pain.
If the vet doesn't find anything wrong with her, then you'l need to look at possible behvioural causes. The link below is for a web article that lists the different reasons (both medical and behavioural) that cats begin indoor toileting and how to solve the problem. You may find the answer to your own particular situation here.

Please be patient with her. She is either ill, or feeling very insecure about something, so there is no point getting upset with her, as this will only make the problem worse. She needs your help and support right now.

Put your kitty in a small room IE a bathroom , closet , a storage room, whatever. Keep her in there for a few days with her water and food AND her litter box. That should do the trick. My mom has a Persian whose problem was exactly the same as this. This solved her problem within a few days. If this doesn't help then you might want to look into changing her litter. Sometime cats have this weird preference with stuff like that. She may prefer some other brand or even some other form of litter. Hope this helps!

try a different litter product, get an additional litter box, also, there is a plug-in hormone which can help, also take her to the vet to make sure she doesn't have anything physically wrong with her

Check her for a urinary tract infection. This behaviour is quite common when she has that, because she has a discomfort urinating and she associates that to the litterbox. Go to the vet. It is a shame to get rid of her for a medical or even psychological conditions. When we have an animal, it is not an object, it is a live creature whom we are committed to "in sickness and in health, for better or for worse", if you like.

put your cat in your bathroom and keep the litter box in there (along with food and water) and shut the door. this should do the trick.
get a spray bottle and just put some water in it if you catch it "going" where it should not. give it a spray. it takes time and patiance but it will learn eventually.

buy a cork. ACtually, look for a spray called Bitter apple. Spray it where she is crapping. She will not like the smell so you can start to control where she goes more.

She needs to see a vet. Her problem can be solved, in all probability by the vet.
