I am not a doctor but i know that Clenbuterol which is used as a weight loss drug because it increases body's temperature slightly which causes body to burn more calories/faster metabolism is actually asthma medication.
I know you can get in places where steroids are being sold and this one is considered as a cutter. I dont know if doctors also prescribe it for asthma.
But i know you can take it only for 2 weeks and then have to off for 2 weeks etc. but you cant take it that often.
She could ask doctor about this, if its an option or maybe he can recommend her something else or similar.
At the mean time she can exercise as much as she can - cardio is the only fat burning exercise - 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, combine it with light weight training and eat healthily and enough calories for body to not store it as fat reserves which happens when you deprive/starve.
And eat every 2-3 hours small meals which gives body energy when it needs it and doesnt have any extra left to store in fat reserves.

Well it all depends... Water along with exercise can help you loose weight. The only way you can gain weight from water is if your body retains water. That where the term water-weight comes from. Too much water can even kill you its called water intoxication. Just make sure that you body eliminates water like it suppose. The benefits of drinking water far out-weights not drinking it.

Drink plenty of water, get more exercise, eat more fruits and vegetables.

Losing weight is a simple formula = expend more calories that you take in.

because asthma can cause death, the meds are very important and should not be stopped unless directed by a doctor. have "gf" talk to her doctor about her concerns. she needs to decide if breathing is more important than a weight gain.
