UK law.

The offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988, is

'Riding a Cycle While Unfit.'

Which states that 'a person who, when riding on a road or other public place, is unfit to ride through drink or drugs, is guilty of an offence'.

There is no legal power to require a specimen of breath.

There is also an offence under the Licensing Act 1872 of 'being in charge of any carriage, horse or cattle on a public highway', this would include a bicycle even if you were only pushing it.

It does not affect your driving licence, and would be dealt with by way of a fine.

You can be done for being drunk in charge of a bicycle - the maximum penalty is death - if you encounter taxi drivers around closing time.

They can't touch your driving licence for this offence or ban you from driving a car. Your licence is only at risk for offences involving a vehicle for which you need a licence.

You will certainly get points or be banned for driving while drunk. I don't think so if you are drunk on a bicycle. If you ride a bicycle while drunk you will probably kill yourself.

I agree with coxon the box, I rather thought this was a UK site, so I'll answer accordingly.

Being drunk in charge of a pedal cycle is an offence, but it has no connection with your driving licence. You're safe in that respect (only).

You don't need a driving licence to ride a bicycle so the answer is no.

How strange - I'm clearly on the UK/I site and I rather think so was the 'asker' - yet we get so many American answers which bear absolutely no relationship to the question or give wrong information.
As you don't need a license for a bike, they'll find it difficult to put points on one BUT you CAN get done for being drunk whilst riding a bike! ! !

In most places no. You can be charged with a violation of the vehicle code but since the license is not for a non motorizes vehicle it should not go driving record.

No not in the UK, but i'm sure that if you were driving dangerously enough they would find something to make sure you wouldn't be riding it again in a hurry!

I'm sure it depends on where you are in the world....In the UK you cant get points on your driving license but they can still fine you for other things.
