I don't understand this. Why? If you like him back, why do you do this? Is it to test his heart?

because if the guy comes after us, then we'll know that he truly likes us and isn't just in it to get some. if he doesn't come after us after playing hard to get, then we'll know that he wasn't worth it in the first place and move on to the next. see you have to PROVE to us that you like us, (because too many guys lie) because actions speak louder than words.

Hard-to-get is a courtship strategy that uses the appeal of mystery and vague availability in order to keep a person's interest. The goal is to, effectively, keep the relationship between you and another person in a state of limbo, when they never can know for sure if you're interested or where you're at. Playing hard-to-get works, most of the time, if you're good at it. Considering that you don't even know what it is, it probably isn't something you want to try on the next sexy gentleman you come across. However, just because it works doesn't mean it's attractive. Quite the opposite, actually. A guy that catches onto your act is most likely going to change course for the most available woman he can feasibly get. What works best, though, when you're not sure what to do, is just to be straightforward. Approach a guy, remain forthright with your intentions, and take the steps needed to make sure that a relationship happens. Very few women have failed using this strategy, while many have failed playing hard-to-get.

How are sure we are playing hard to get if we like a guy already? The point is to give a challenge, best things received in life are what you have worked for.

Just because she likes a guy doesn't mean she wants to sleep with him on the second date. Chill out! Take your time. Sex is one of the easiest things to do, but maintaining a relationship is not so easy.

As someone else said, some of us actually don't 'play' as u put it. It's just the way I am, if a guy knows that you like him there's the possibility of him taking advantage of u. Therefore, its just wise to get to know a guy. Besides, it's alot of fun to see u guys trying! lol!

The same reason guys relentlessly pursue a girl, then never calls after he scores. You can like a guy all you want, but if he sticks around, he's pretty serious about it.

it's to see how much HE likes me back. if he tries hard enough, than we know he's a keeper, and he's worth our time. for the good people, we don't play hard to get until YOUR heart is broken. it's just a short thing, just to see.

You know what they say... good things don't come easily. Maybe she just wants to make sure that you're not a guy who gives up so fast. Another reason is that girls just want to feel that they're needed.
