When atheists seem pissed off, it’s really that they’re passionate about what they oppose. It takes intelligence to see the harm that religion has done and continues to do to humanity and it takes intelligence and passion to care enough about it to react. Believers see it as anger and add this to their feeble list of counter accusations.

Why else, on the face of this planet, could an athiest claim to be answering questions, or posing questions, in an answer area clearly marked in no uncertain terms "Religion & Spirituality" which they already claim to have no interest in, and no belief in?
That is no different than a "Christian" going to picket an abortion clinic, with the EXACT SAME reasoning behind it. The athiests here are absolutely NO different than those they complain about. They are inherently trying to "push" atheism on those whom have no interest in it, then claim they were innocent.
The athiests here are not innocent, nor are the supposed "christians" who are willing to resort to the same wordly tactics.
For instance, why exactly are you here? Do you have any true interest at all in religion? Are you trying to seek converts? Are you trying to debunk our beliefs?????
If any of these true, than you cannot claim impartiality or innocence.
I am not angry nor hatefull of athiests, though I am a little wary of your collective motives, since your actions here do not match your stated intents or claims.
As for the general consensus of anger and hate, read but five beleievers posts and their answers..... the amount of snide, churlish, and childish responses abound. Count how many claim to be believers, and how many are against "those idiot fundies etc."......... your basic argument is obvious to everyone reading, and the answer is self evident in the average athiests response here, which IS generally hatefull and angry.
Let me explain this unreasoned hatred. I am a Christian. I generally ignore the childish stuff from all, as my purpose as I am moved is to speak out against false doctrine in the church, and teach scripture to those seeking God. Scripture says that no man can come to christ unless the father first draw him, so how can I or anyone else claim to be able to "convert" anyone? I am not here to convert you, that is God's perogative. I but speak his scripture.
How is it then, there are quite many claiming through their posts as general statements acclimated towards ALL christians, that ALL christians are this or that. I have never done anything to them. I probably have never spoken or written to them, as I rarely reply to atheistic questions. Yet, by their own definition I am "a stupid fundie", "an idiot", etc. etc... (the childish and churlish sarcasm abounds) simply because I am a Christian, no other reason.
I have heard the same types of comments (not against religion, but against race), and have refuted them from my own nephew. However, he is not an athiest, he is an Arian Brotherhood member.
Unreasoned hatred is unreasoned hatred, whether someone claims or admits it, or not. If you are here, not a single one of you can claim that any believer here is pushing anything upon you, the reverse is true. These are not words of anger or hate, but simple logical truth, derived from observation.

I think it's ignorance of each others rights and beliefs. Often it's very disrespectful. remember when growing up we were taught by our parents it wasn't polite to discuss religion, sex, money and politics when in public. If we all stuck to that the world would be a friendlier place. (though it might also be very boring for some of us)

When an atheist is confronted aggressively again and again by theists who try to press their religion into their lives, that atheist may feel justified in raising their voice just a bit. When confronted with improbable claims, an atheist might be expected to regard said claims with skepticism. When one is confronted with outright lies and misrepresentations by theists, an atheist might be expected to call them on it.
And this is regarded as "hatred" and "anger".
Atheists don't hate your god, guys. They do get pretty annoyed with its followers, though.

Few things are felt as passionately as our faith, whatever our faith happens to be. That is why religion based disputes (abortion, evolution, homosexuality) are often the most heated and violent.
Which is a shame really.

I guess it's because they don't know how to react in any other way.....
Why can't they all just get along, and try to understand that no two people are the same... By them reacting that way will only make the situation worse... It's not going to get anyone to believe in their God!

When you argue generalities with a generality, then you perpetuate the problem you seek to cure.
'Why do they....' should instead become a 'Why do I....' and the solution will be self-evident.
