Of course. Haven't you ever heard the saying "if there was no such thing as god it would have been necessary to invent him" ?

What's to ponder?
There was no religion, then cave men came along.
Cavemen discovered fire and it was great, so they worshipped it. They began to worship water, rock, earth, air, etc. And thus multiple gods were born.
Then society got tired of trying to appease all these gods and combined into one god.
Then they began to believe in no god again.
And now we see the resurgence of many gods through the paganism popularity.
It's a cycle, as is everything in the Universe.

Another one for the ***PRAYNOGRAPHER***he is on a roll tonight. There is nothing to ponder. It is just because of the stupidity of weak men. Religion is just an excuse for the weak of mind.

Yeah, Evolution gave homo sapien a creative mind and with that creativity we went to work on some neat little stories about how we were created.
But as we became more intelligent, we started to chuckle and say I cant believe we use to believe that.

I did, until I got to the duck-billed platypus. There wasn't a single religion in the world I could equate with that creature, so I stopped.

The religious will bristle at this, but their religions mutate and change although to one single inmate in the span of his (only) lifetime, he may not notice it.
I liked to write and run tabletop role-playing games for the benefit of others, so I wrote how you can design "evolved" religions for your far-future science fiction games:

I have somewhat researched this, there is not evidence where religion was created or the date is was created, this must mean that I originated at the beginning of human life, that's when God created woman and man.
