Yes, a friend of mine did it. I was an atheist when I met this Christian friend online. I still don't have a religion though, but I believe in God now.

i was raised catholic. i guess i never really switched because i was always agnostic. my mother married and became a born again and that sealed the deal. those ppl are the most hypocritical, judgemental, backwards ppl that i have ever come across. they look down on everyone who isn't like them and condone disgusting things anongst their little group. i'm speaking from experience. i have gained the knowledge that i must hold myself responsible for my actions and deeds. all i have is this life and the only REAL way to have eternal life, is to live in the positive memories of the ppl i love. i know now that the troubles that i have had in life aren't some divine punishment for failure to measure up, but simply the random tribulations of everyday life. i am much happier now.

I was christian once and now I am a Heathen. I've gained a lot more freedom to do and believe what I want. I'll probably get a bunch of thumbs down from the christians here. But I don't think your jesus would do that now would he.

Yes, I was a Christian and became a Muslim. I feel my Husband helped show me about Islam and the Quran but my guidance came from God. God willed me to become Muslim and to choose Islam.
God wills everything that he wants to happen, I honestly can tell you, Now, when I look back at my conversion and how it came about I can say that I was guided, not solely by My Husband. The things he said I would listen but not always agree with, I became Muslim when I began reading the Quran and learning about it. God guided me to it and willed for it. All of the things in my life evidently ended up with me becoming a Muslim...All the pain and suffering I had endured was OK because it all lead me to my final place, At Islam.
I have gained peace, tranquility, freedom, oneness, Love for fellow man kind and a feeling of guidance!

I was pretty religious (Christian), but now I'm an atheist.

I would say that my religious background gives me more perspective with Christians than some of my other atheist friends. I don't think it's dumb or ridiculous to believe in God - I just don't.

It seems to me that it would be really hard to switch religions, though. I mean, say you're a Muslim and you convert to Christianity. If you've already given up one faith, wouldn't it make it hard not to question the new one?

I dunno, though. Just a thought. :)

Many people have tried to change my mind about my religion (including some YA users) but they can't. What I feel is much stronger than somebody else's words.

No, God wrote my name in the Lamb's Book of Life before the foundation of the world. That cannot be changed...

How can somebody else change my mind? Is there a switch in the back where I can't see it?

It totally depends on one's thought & either he/she wants to feel like living longer life in this world or prefer life after death (life after death, concludes that one has to believe that Creator of Heavens & Earth exist and one has to be liable for his/her action during his/her stay in this world).

Depending on this one become athiest or religious. Changing of religions only happen if one's feel not satisfied & getting much liberty in his/her faith.

I used to be Christian. When it was learned that priests had been molesting children for decades and God never once intervened, the choice was either God is a creation of man or God is a very sick deity. Christianity comes with guilt and I am free of that.
