AE means "Action Express". Some of the Desert Eagle handguns use the .50 Action Express cartridge. See the Wikipedia article for more info. Hope this helps!

Would that be as in .41 AE?

If so, the AE stands for Action Express.

The cartridge was introduced by Action Arms in the mid-1980's. It is a true .41 caliber bullet, but the cartridge case has a rebated head the same size as a 9 mmP.

The cartridge was chambered in Action Arms version of the CZ 75, IIRC they were made in Italy by Tanfoglio. A big selling point was that any 9 mmP handgun could be converted to .41 AE with just a simple barrel swap.

Ballistics on the .41 AE were fairly impressive. IIRC they were somewhere between the .40 S&W and the Bren 10mm.

The .41 AE was chambered by several companies, including Desert Eagle, and I believe there was a .50 AE chambered in the Desert Eagles as well. I don't know much about the .50 AE cartridge. A quick Google search showed that the .50 AE had a rebated rim the same size as a .44 RemMag. That would allow Desert Eagle owners switch calibers by swapping barrels.

The .41 AE was a decent cartridge, I was sad to see it fail in the marketplace.

When speaking of calibers, particularly for the Desert Eagle, AE is an acronym for 'Action Express,' to define a caliber proper to the Desert Eagle pistols. Example: .50 Caliber Action Express, a fifty caliber semi-auto bullet with a rebated rim.

It does stand for Action Express. They do some great stuff. But it only technically stands for Action Express. In reality it means that when you pull the trigger whatever you're pointing at WILL die.

the 44 AE is the hottest load. A nice little piece of design

"50 high quality Barrett Sniper VS 8 Gauge Shotgun w/slug at 10 yards" that's a 50BMG not a 50 high quality. 50 high quality is a meaningless term, you hear it plenty because of the fact maximum persons are too dumb to realize how dumb they're. the two way, the 50BMG beats each little thing on your checklist "50 action exhibit desolate tract Eagle VS 50 high quality Magnum " See, the 50AE is taken under consideration one of those fifty high quality, even with the undeniable fact that that's no the place close to as efficient as a 50BMG. i don't even comprehend what you recommend via 50 high quality magnum. perhaps you recommend 500 Smith and Wesson? if so, 500SW is plenty greater efficient than 50AE, yet neither even comes on the element of being interior an identical room as 50BMG "Ruger P95 VS Glock 22" as one is chambered for 9x19 and the different is a 40SW, the 40SW is greater poweful, even with the undeniable fact that it has not something to do with the weapons you menioned. "Ak47 VS M16" At short selection, the AK, at longer stages, the M16, quite because of the fact the AK will omit like loopy on the 2 hundred backyard selection, and any hit beats a omit. The M16 can nevertheless be giving torso hits easily at 3 hundred yards. "AA-12 Shotgun VS 577 T-Rex" the AA-12 is purely a 12 gauge shotgun, which potential that's horribly outclassed via the 577 T-rex

It stands for Action Express. The round was created by Action Arms. The name just distinguishes this particular cartridge from other .50 caliber rounds.
