Are you talking about an ipod? If so look on the lower left hand corner of your screen. Somewhere near where the clock would be if it's visible on your desktop. There should be an icon representing your mp3 player. Right click on it and you should get a bubble that states "safely remove hardware" if you have gotten this far the rest will explain itself. I hope this helps. Feel free to email me with other details. Hopefully I can walk you thru it if you don't find your answer here.

Don't know the technical choice, but you could always unplug the MP3, then just plug it right back in again. It'll prompt the message again, obviously, but make sure you disconnect it using the icon in the lower right-hand corner before pulling out the plug. Be safe.

Plug in your mp3, go to My computer, right click on the icon for your device, then select properties, then the autoplay tab. You can pick what you want there.
