Than we do about those that truly love us.

Maybe not everyone does this. Whenever I let the thought enter my mind that maybe I don't want to be alone any more, I inevitably find disappointment. I feel sadness. Yet I do have a few friends and a son who really love me. Why can't I just be happy with that?

It's human nature to want things we don't have, it doesn't mean you don't appreciate or aren't happy with the friends and family you have now. I am a single mother of two little boys, and they love me to death and I love them to death, that doesn't mean I don't wish I could find a husband. That's a different kind of connection, a seperate void that kids couldn't fill. Just like I can only be a good mother to them, even if I'm supermom I can't fill the void of the father missing from their lives.

Why can't you be full eating from a plate that has only a half a dozen peas on it?

Why can't you be quenched taking water from a glass that has only a few sips in it?

The love of family and friends is very important and meaningful, but dieting on such a love would make our hearts thin and our faith weak indeed. Trust in the hunger and thirst that you have, and use it to find the fullness you seek. If God did not want our stomachs to be so full and satisifed, he would have made them smaller.

Maybe you romanticize the male/female love. Do you still have 'happily ever after' fantasies? Real love is messy and hurtful too. The people just keep trying is what keeps them together.

Take care...
