Sorry to burst your bubble, but Firewall is in the extreme minority. Take a look at almost any Moslem nation and Israel for counters to your bogus claim.

America is not one of the most serious about religion. Go to Saudi Arabia, and violate one of the religious laws there. You may not leave with all of your body parts, or even your life. Try being a missionary to some Bhuddist and Islamic countries, where just for being a Christian you are beaten, dismembered, and if you are lucky, slain.
There are a lot of people who say the US is an intolerant country religiously speaking. But when was the last time you heard about somebody being beaten because they were a Morman, and the police did nothing about it? Or when was the last time you heard of a Christian being killed for sharing the Gospel? Or a Muslim for starting a Mosque?
Wake up. The US is the most TOLERANT country in the world when it comes to religion. It is very rare indeed to see people beaten or killed for their religious beliefs here. But tolerance is not all good...nobody stands for what they believe for fear of being branded a bigot or a hypocrite. Political Correctness rules here--that's the 800 pound gorilla waiting to pounce...

That is not a question, it is a perception
It is based upon a faulty (because unprovable) assumption that America is more serious about religion than any other country. How does one measure the 'seriousness' of religion in a country: participation and attendence rates at a mass, personal beliefs, number of 'churches', number of times 'God' is invoked on the media per day.....?
If seriousness, instead, involves proper application and dedication to one's spiritual belief system, then America is far from being as 'serious' about religion as other countries.

I will assume you mean more serious about religion than any other *western* country. Even then it's a questionable assertion; but if it's true, it may be because so many people came here to escape state-sponsored religion in Europe.
Basically, if you're of European descent and your family was here before around the mid 1800s, chances are high that they came here because they took religion too seriously to put up with a state-sponsored farce.

Really? What about Muslims and Hindus? Their countries are very religious. I do not know of any Christianity religion who prays 5 times a day.

I wouldn't say we are the most serious. But America was founded on religion; we still have the word "God" on our money. As Americans we have the freedom to choose our own religion or not have one at all. I think it's the freedom we value.

Are you serious? The US is about the only country that isn't in some sort of silly God related conflict. Here we are free to accept the distorted views and child molestation of the Catholic Church. Any other country would be cutting priests balls off. We are way too laid back about religion...and I'm not even religious.

Because, as much as we don't want to admit it. As much as we'd like to make other people think we are one of the most advanced countries, we aren't. We are in fact very backwards and intolerant towards many people's differences. We're getting there, it's just a long slow process.

because we have the most diversity. our country is the most diverse with ethnicity. and with ethnicity comes religion. but the problem is, with all these different religions, people tend to think more superior of their own than with the others. so all these different religions causes conflicts between groups. so our country NEEDS to be more serious.

Because the U.S. is full of people who are more interested in what everyone thinks about them than knowing or admitting the truth. Self-rightousness is a powerful drug
