i let a tattooer's artistic ability be the determining factor in whether i get tattooed by them. i have never been tattooed by someone without tattoos but that would not stop me from getting one from someone.

No I wouldnt. A tattoo artist without any is odd. I have four and will only get them from an artist who 1. Has photo albums of his work and 2. HAS TATTOO'S!
If he doesnt have tattoo's I would be a little suspicious.

I would get a tattoo from a artist with no tattoos. I never thought i would BUT i found an amazing tattoo artist that didn't have any tattoo but his work was out of this world. I think if i was an amazing tattoo artist i wouldn't want someone else to tattoo me because i'd know i probably wouldn't be happy with it because i knew i had the talent to do better.

No. I like to see that my tattoo artist has tattoos and they look good. That shows they are clean. Plus if they don't have any then I'm not sure they will do good on mine since they don't care for tattoos.

Yes as long as they have a kick *** portfolio. When you think about it the artists don't display all their own work on their bodies, many of them started getting tattoos before they started doing tattoos, so even if they are covered with awsome work, that dosen't mean for sure they did ANY of it.

I think I like the connection to someone who has tattoos. They have first hand experience as to how it feels and how it healed in. My tattoo artist is passionate about tattoos whether they be on him or someone else. I like that part.

from my point of view no i wouldnt. my tattoo artist is basically covered all over. so he knows the parts that hurt the worst and parts that dont. he knows what affects one person and not the next. hes very patienat about his work and i love it. its all in the person. if they like a tattooist to have tattoos or not.

No. Not because I necessarily doubt them as an artist, but because they don't understand what their client is going through. How can you do your job well when you don't connect to the people you're working on?
They may be the best artist in the world, but if they don't know what it feels like to be in the chair, there will always be a disconnect.

No because he can't tell me how to truly take care of my tattoo and most likely doesn't have the true passion and inspiration to do tattoo's.
