I am 20 years old, I am 5'8"-5'9" tall and Im not going to say my weight.. HAHA but I want to lose 30 lbs.
I already cut back on most of the junk food and now im about to cut out the fast food and more excersize
~I was thinking of waking up early and walking throught my whole neighborhood (about one mile) everyday or every other day,
~using the bowflex 45 mins Sunday, Tues, Thurs, Sat
~Using nordictrak for 30 mins Mon, Wed, anf Fri

Also just keep eating veggies (i dont eat meat already) and fish occasionally.

How long should it take me to lose 30 lbs? (if i stick to this faithfully?) also what should i change or try. Suggestions welcome..This is important to me. thanks

first of all never do anything on empty stomach - it leads to many health problems including diabetes.
its healthy to lose 1-2lbs a week -if you lose more its not fat you are losing its water weight and muscle which means you are slowing down your metabolism.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Sounds like you are on the right track. I wish I had your ambition. The faster you lose the weight, the better chance of it returning plus some. You should lose no more than 2 lbs a week or 8 lbs a month, so 30 lbs should take you roughly 3 1/2 months. I know it seems long but any faster and it doesn't stay off. Drink lots of water, it flushes out the fat in your body. Good luck.

Hmm, well it all actually depends on your own personal metabolism!

It sounds like you're on a great track so far, so keep that up!

Be careful to not over do it right away. That's the worst thing that can happen. I'd start out doing the walking/jogging for a week and THEN adding in the extra stuff!!

Good luck!

Your metabolism has slowed down. The weight will come off in 6 months, but you HAVE to be committed to your eating and routine.

Also, incorporate some weight training to make your body denser (not bulky). That will speed up your metabolism.

Instead of walking your neighborhood, work your way up to jogging.

I think you should try the hospital diet. You can look it up on google or something and it's suppose to tell you what to eat for a week and a shopping list. It says you're suppose to lose up to 17 lbs. in a week. Good luck!
