What is your opinion on this?

"This is a message written by Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, far and near, we are behind them. Verily, I defend them by myself, the servants, the helpers, and my followers, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be changed from their jobs, nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they (Christians) are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, this is not to take place without her own wish.

She is not to be prevented from going to her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation is to disobey this covenant till the Day of Judgment and the end of the world."

I just would like to ask people to read into history more. It's true that the Prophet of Islam Muhammad (PBUH) did not harm any of the Christians & Jews (unless they fought Islam). These religions were brought down to mankind by Allah himself, that's why he was asked to do so. A proof of that is when Muslims were beaten & torured by the Mushrekeen of Quraish (citizens of Mecca at that time), and Muhammad (PBUH) asked them to go to Al-Habasha, which was a close by country ruled by Christians. He told them to go and seek protection from their king, Al Najashi, who was a devoted Christian. When they went there, Quraish sent people to convince the King not to accept the Muslims, but the King was wise and he heard both sides. Do you know what his decision was? He accepted them. And what made him believe the Muslims? Because they read a verse from the Quraan which made him believe in them. And Al Najashi said, "The difference between my religion (Christianity) and your (Islam) is only this line (and he drew a line on the floor by his kane).

For heaven sake, do not misleading the facts. The statement was after the treaty within the Muslims and the Christians. In enhancing peace, Prophet Muhammad mentioned this to ensure the safety of the Christians who became the citizen of the country after the country was invaded by the Muslims. That does not mean that the Muslims could have mixed belief in their faith. In Islam, whoever marrying a Muslims have to convert themself to Islam, otherwise, the marriage is considered null and void (Zina). In the past, The original Christian Book ( Injil ) was accepted in Islam but not the today's Bible. That is why the Muslims acknowledged the four original Kitab (books) Taorah, Zabur, Injil and Quran. However, all three books are no longer exists except the Alquran nul Kareem.

Unfortunately, your quote from Muhammad ibn Abdullah clearly shows him to be a Muslim apostate and a heretic, even an infidel since the Quran states that Christians and Jews, especially, as well as other faiths are unbelievers and that:

Surah II: 98 – “Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers.”

Surah II: 191-193 – “Kill them [unbelievers] wherever you find them….Fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah.”

Surah II: 216 – “Fighting is enjoined on you, and it is an object of dislike to you; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know.”

Surah III: 19 – “Surely the true religion with Allah is Islam…and whoever disbelieves in the communications of Allah then surely Allah is quick in reckoning.”

Surah IV: 104 – “Be not weak in pursuit of the enemy.”

Surah V: 51 – “O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whosoever among you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.”

Surah VIII: 12 – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.”

Surah VIII: 15-17 – “O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve marching for war, turn not your backs to them. Whoever shall turn his back to them on that day – unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a company – then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah’s wrath, and his abode is hell… So you did not slay them, but it was Allah who slew them…that He might confer upon the believers a good gift from Himself; surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing.”

Surah IX: 29 – “Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth… until they pay the tax in acknowledgement of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.”

Surah IX:33 – “[Allah] it is who sent His Apostle with guidance and the religion of truth, that He might cause it to prevail over all religions, though polytheists may be averse.”

Surah IX: 73 – “O Prophet! Strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is their destination.”

Surah IX: 123 – “O you who believe! Fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in your hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).”

As Yasser Arafat said in his speech in Johannesburg, South Africa, referring to the story of Muhammad deceiving the city which had refused to acknowledge him, it is a virtue for Muslims to lie and decieve in order to achieve a goal.

Since 9/11 more and more of us are reading the Quran and discovering the TRUE nature of this supposedly "peaceful" religion.

excellent post. here, the government will provide money for the upkeep of Churches if they fall into disrepair and the directors are financially challenged. I would point out I do reside in Islamic country. Religiously mixed families here are fairly common, Christian and Muslim. So common it hardly is noticed. More so in our eastern states , way way less in the western states.
