Walmart has endured some bad press lately, but Walmart has changed the very course of my life (for the better!)

I was estranged from my father 5 years when I got a job where he worked: Walmart. As he was walking past my jewelry counter, he said, "Hello" and I replied "Hi, Daddy" and my boss was in shock he was my dad. She immediately sent me on a break and insisted I eat lunch with him. We began our reconciliation that day.
Another way Walmart has changed my life: I met my husband over the jewelry counter! I remember reaching across and shaking his hand, and his father's hand.
Tell me your wonderful Walmart story...

Walmart is weird and it has changed everyone's life...however, all is not well. Has anyone else noticed that Walmarts continue to be built "everywhere" and other place syou never thought would....are losing down? Why is it the Walmart has all this money to continue to built and everyone else is struggling?
Sooner of later,Walmart will be the only store left and bread will be $5 and we won't be able to do a thing about the raising prices (which by the way are already going up)

When my husband and I first got married we were young and pretty poor...lol. I remember being so excited as we walked to that jewelry counter in WalMart and he bought me my $150 C.Z wedding ring set. I loved it!! He has since bought me a 1 karat diamond wedding band set but I still have the $150 rings from Walmart that he put on my finger on our wedding day. They are kept in my jewelry box and I'll always cherish them! ♥

Sorry I don't have any, and I prefer not to shop there. The situations you are talking about had nothing to do with where you were but that you were in the right place at the right time. If you are making as much money as the men in your store and have as much opportunity for advancement, then you are in the right job. If your benefits are normal for the industry then that's great. However I find the store near me dirty and the employee's surly. Something is rotten in Denmark.

Wal-mart is a breeding ground for low-lifes. Always screaming kids. They build all over, sometimes within 5 miles of each other. We don't need Wal-mart.

I had my first labor pains in Wal-Mart. That's about as sentimental as it gets from me about Wal-Mart. I spent 45 minutes in line today there. Wal-Mart is NOT a hot topic at my house today.
