Dear Lydia,
First let me say that God's calling is not always going to be the same for everyone.
God's calling will definitely first and foremost line up with His word. The Bible is clear that He has given everyone spiritual gifts and we should use these gifts to serve Him and others. The Bible does also teach us that whoever is faithful with little will be faithful with much-- often people are gifted but they become so insistent that they have to serve in a certain capacity in a church- and i think wisdom says (and Paul also advised Timothy) to be careful not to put believers who are too young in positions of leadership.
i have found that when God puts something upon your heart- to start praying about it- and to also have a close group of people around you to pray with you. God will also affirm his calling by the people around you as well and in some instances God has given me a Bible verse.
As i have many other friends who are pastors and hear their stories- not everyone receives the calling the same way-- but most definitely God can affirm your calling through others in your church, the Bible, and as you diligently seek Him He promises to show Himself to you.
Kindly,
Nickster

Well, all I can tell you is that I was never religious, but 2 years ago I had a dream that God was calling me on my cell, but after that I forgot about it. About a week later I kept thinking about him a lot so one time when I least expected it I got on my knees and started praying, which I never thought I'd do because I remember insulting God once when I was younger. I think it's amazing. My life has changed a lot because of Him. <3

Proverbs (old testament) says: "You put eternity in our hearts, how can we understand it ?" There is a longing for God in every human heart. Wether we admit it or not. Today God calls you through the gospel. The good news is simply put: Today we can come directly to God, through Jesus Christ. Romans 10 says: Jesus is Lord, and Anyone that calls on the Lords name will be saved.

Well we know that Satan and a majority of his abilites to decieve is through his and his minions psychological abilities of the mind. So God through the Holy Spirit speaks to the Heart.
Before a person is born again, it is the convicting power of the Holy Spirit, that speaks and tugges at our heart, revealing to us that we are sinners and in need of a Savior.
Some have felt this convicting power of the Holy Spirit, and have rejected Him. I've even seen individuals get up and walk out of church during alter call.
Whereas, others have surrender to Him, in repentance, and confession, and asking Jesus to come into their hearts.
The Holy Spirit then takes the purifying blood of Jesus, the fire of the Holy Spirit, and enters, starting a re-newing, a regenerations process, and setting up a permenant residence.
With the Holy Spirit dwelling inside us now. God and Jesus, speaks to our hearts with and through the Holy Spirit.
What unbelievers fail to understand about someone that is born again. Is the "realness" of the Spirit!

It is different for everyone but the one constant is that you have to be still to hear Him calling. For me He speaks through my heart. When He wants me to do or not do something I get an unbearable heaviness in my heart but Until I learned to be still I never heard Him.Now I act and all works for the good. Others actually say they hear his voice who am I to question. I just know that when he speaks I listen and act. I am not going to miss another call. I have missed too many in my life.

God works in myserious ways, so there really isn't anyway to answer that. He calls on you when its the right timing. Just wait for him. And trust me, You will know when it happens

Is He calling you now? Your question is that of one who is hearing the whisper of His voice but one who is not sure if it is really God or not. Just keep listening. He will make it clear to you.

Check the caller ID. If it says 867-5309, it's either him or Tommy Tutone.
