Johnny,
The Ten Commandments were written for the Israelites. Christianity began after Christ arose into heaven and Peter spoke at Pentecost. The result was baptism and Christ's Church on Earth. We are told that the Old Law is "for our learning. We live under the New Testament Law. You should begin reading, studying, and obeying it while you have the time. I would be glad to assist if you need it.
Thanks,
Eds

Well, for me I would consider the 10 Commandments to be guidelines or tips, just like other things in the bible. Everyone has broken at least one of the commandments....Why? Because we are all sinners. All the commandments have a deeper meaning than what they say. Also if the punishments were enforced imagine how many people would be punished....Look around...It would be everyone...

The Ten Commandment were in the old testament and is of the old law of the Jews. After Christ died for us the Christian faith started as the laws of the Old testament were no longer practiced. The Ten Commands are of the old laws. There are some in the New testament that Jesus told us but not the Whole ten.

The ten commandments were obviously moral laws and civil laws for the governing of Israel. Christ fulfilled the moral law and nailed it to the cross. People who believe this are no longer under the law, they are made new creatures and no longer need law to lead a holy life. "the law is for the lawless". Christ died for the sins of the whole world, so it is Gods decision who benefits besides those who hear about Him and believe on Him.

For Christians, we believe that when Jesus died on the cross/tree, he brought with his death a new convenant that made immediate punishment (by men) no longer necessary. Men can be wrong about things...God will not be when judgement comes. The commandments are the guidelines for living and are as meaningful as they were 3500 years ago. It is simply a good way to behave.

The entire chapter of Leviticus are "commandments", and there are 613 of them. Those are just the ones that made "God's Top Ten". Personally, I find many of them to simply be good suggestions, but then I don't seek to impose my ideology onto others.

during noah and abraham days, there were NO LAW..till moses..to birth a NEED of a SAVIOR..for no man..can perform perfection since birth!
SO since the SAVIOR who is PERFECT..came and gone and will come again..had FULLFILLED the requirement of the LAW..BLOOD!
So since JESUS.never sin..he became SIN..for US.
So that..as he enter into kingdom of satan..hell.
the prophecy of rising up on the 3rd day..came forth
NOW..JESUS..gone to heaven with the keys of HELL>..as well
stripped satan of "ALL" power..and overcome DEATH.
So..by FAITH..in HIS GRACE...of the "GIFT" of RIGHTEOUSNESS
we are MADE RIGHT..with GOD..(remember the angels vistation in the night sky..peace to men and good will to them.
satan tried to kill jesus
till a perfect time..of showing US..HOW TO conquer satan..by Faith..obedience to LOVE.(ten commandments).
we the bride/body of Christ..shall put satan under our feet.
WHY..we don't stone? because JESUS came and fullfilled the LAW of punishement due to sin.
SIN..bring DEATH..diseases.and poverty..sickness..bad luck(superstition, but at least you'll understand..what curse means.
