Why don't we ask the super rich like Bill Gates and Donald Trump and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to feed the poor people?

We should take more from the rich people the same way a lawyer would take more from a larger settlement. I'm sure they do, but is it enough?

You have a better way to fund the program?

In response to your additional details: We already do that. It's called a graduated income tax. The wealthy pay higher rates than the middle class who pay higher rates than the poor. So, we're still spending tax dollars on it.

And what more do you want from Bill Gates? He's donated more than 50 cents of EVERY dollar he ever earned to charity and is STILL the wealthiest human on the planet. Can YOU make the same claim?

Still waiting on your better way...

Any society can be acurately judged by the treatment that the strong, rich members give to the weak, poor members of said society. If you have, then you should also give freely.

Because sometimes people fall on hard times and need some additional help. I pray you're never one of those people. Not to say that the system isn't abused, but it is in place for a good reason

To feed poor people and to make sure they have plenty of Malt liquor and crack cocaine.

To follow up...the problem with taking money away from "wealthy" people to give to those less fortunate is already being done. The wealthiest 1% of people in the US pay 40% of the tax revenue the government collects and then redistributes. The problem with this socialism is that it could get to a point when people won't strive to become wealthy because the gov't will take most of the money away to give to someone else. It has a chilling effect on a persons motivation to succeed. Socialism does not work.

I'd rather spend tax dollars feeding the poor than financing a war built on lies.
