Why does everyone think that? Just because people listen to what other people say they judge right away? Other than Satan blinding them and people being ignorant,why do people think they are a cult?

a cult worships man and follow him, they live together and work together. we worship Jehovah God and follow Jesus Christ command at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. we live in our own homes and work on jobs. we may be your next door neighbor. you may talk to a Jehovah Witness in walmart or winn dixie and not even know you are talking to a witness because we don't walk around with signs on. we did not change the bible. but put Jehovah's name back in the places that it belongs. we live in 236 lands worldwide, if we where a cult, we would be in one state. remember charles manson, or jim jones, or waco texas. that is cults. we are mothers, fathers, and children. we do not harm our children. we do not take of blood, but even if I was not a Jehovah Witness, I would never take of blood. we do go to doctors and get the best care, even if doctors half the time don't know what they are doing and make many mistakes. we don't let our children die. we leave it with Jehovah God, because Jehovah knows best for us. we follow the bible. people rather slander Jehovah Witness because they know nothing about us. learn what we are all about at the website www.watchtower.org

I don't think that there a cult, people don't like anything that different, Jehovah Witnesses don't bother anyone including the government, I have no problem with them or there Love for Jehovah God!!! Wow i look at the other answers and it sad one said that that they don't allowed instrument play that not true, a cult is something that followers a Man and that man believe he is the supreme being, and Jehovah Witnesses follow the one true God Jehovah

I have read a little on them and seen some long bit on tv having them talk in interviews. I feel uncomfortable around the zealot factor of them. Now I won't single them out but they are on a different level. Like the bible belt evangelicals with Jesus camp. No way I don't agree. If I was to have kids I would allow them to study all and tell me what is right. I bet we would agree without prior converse.

They called Jesus a blasphemer. Nothing was more from the truth. He said they would harass us also. So this should make you feel good. When they lyingly say bad things about you "lift your heads for your deliverance in near".
They killed him for his faith. Are you better than Christ? You knew you would be persecuted for his name sake.
Jesus comforted us with this:
You also therefore are now indeed having grief but I shall see you again and your hearts will rejoice and your joy no one will take away from you. John 16:22

I've never thought that. I don't think anything bad about them. They came to my door once when I was younger. I remember because I was still in my nightgown lol. They were very nice to me. I don't agree with any specific religion, but I do believe in God. They aren't causing me or anyone I know any harm.

Catholics like to say that all other religions besides theirs are cults.
Witnesses are just doing what the bible says and do it only because it is what they believe is true.
They are one of the few religions that really try to follow the bibles teaching and not add other doctrines

If they are honest with themselve they will have to acknowledge they follow man. This is evident in that they follow the words that their governing body allows attached to the scriptures, not the scriptures themselves.
I think it is just a small internet minority with a strong voice that have forwarded the idea with much support. Most folks have probably never even considered it, until recently.

It is listed as a cult on several web sites. That the label is distasteful to JWs is irrelevant, their theology simply resides outside of mainstream Christian thought.
