I'm not sure that it can be cured as once it takes hold all rational goes out the window those infected become delusional and closed minded, it's known to be highly contagious and effects the weaker minds first eventually as more numbers are infected it begins to have an effect on everything from politics schools media as it becomes all consuming.

If detected in it's early stages there is a chance it can be cured. If contracted as a child then unfortunately the vicitim is a lost cause, it's too late, the disease has control of every rudimentary part of the being.

Syptoms include belief that

the bible is the word of god
we are all born sinners

It's a psychological condition similar to drug addiction. Some personalities are more at risk than others. Cure is often impossible unless the sufferer wants to be helped.

I could agree with you up to a point. There are some people that for some reason don't use their mind. Reaching them has been a real pain in the neck.
I have found generally that they have some distorted thought patterns going on. Common is the all-or-nothing type.
I would have a better go of it here, but I know you were sort of being not so serious.
Jesus Christ IS Lord and Savior!

I would not call religion a disease.I believe that man has always searched for answers about the meaning of life and religion offers some of the best reasons for our existance. To be without faith is to be without hope, once hope is gone despair is sure to follow. As children do we not place all of our faith in our parents ? Is that being delusional ? The same can be said about having faith in a higher being.Professing love for one another is a good thing, blowing yourself up in the name of religion is delusional ! You know faith is not something one can be taught, you either have it or you don't it's as simple as that !

Faith is best blind. Believing and not seeing is the faith of a child.

Now, some take it too far. Killing others is that "too far" point. Believe what you want, but do not harm others for it.

All together, it is not a disease. Faith is a beautiful thing. Just because you do not believe the same, that does not make you, or those who do believe, right or wrong. It just means you disagree. And that is healthy.

Um... Could you repeat the question please...?

I couldn't DISAGREE more strongly with the first responders answer.!

"Right and wrong" apply to more than just the moral questions we face. Questions of fact vs fiction have definite answers that can be decided... either "right or wrong." The merely whimsical idea of creation vs the facts of our spontaneously occurring lives and the ineffectiveness of prayer vs coincidence can be shown... either "right or wrong." All of this is true beyond a reasonable doubt when presented to reasonable and honest people.

Allowing unfounded belief to effect our world societies in negative ways - and I'm speaking of the preponderance of religious fanaticism and it's tendency to incite violence, influence lawmaking and feather itself outrageously in riches and power - is only as foolish as allowing the blindness of the faith-lead belief systems, the organized religions, to foster and propagate supernatural-belief and thus prop-up the survival of god-belief to go another day unquestioned and unmolested.

I don't agree in the least that a "live and let live" policy is healthy when it comes to tolerating the ignorance encouraged and openly taught to innocent children and less able thinkers merely to maintain the feel-good fantasies of god-based belief and the existence of religious institutions.

Responder #1... you are dead wrong.

It's only a disease to the elite and genius type. You snuck in "if I blow myself up I will be at Gods right hand". That's Muslim, as you know. The rest is weins.
