Are Marines in the Military who have low-combat seeing jobs, (clerical jobs, etc) allowed to have weapons for leisure? If not, why?

Personal weapons aren't forbidden that I'm aware of. Might be different for Marines, but we're Army and we have personal weapons. We live off-post too so they're kept at the house. If we lived on-post they'd have to be kept in the armory locked up until needed.

Yes, but they have to register them if they live on base. A Marine is a Marine first always regardless of their job. Every job in the military is important even if you don't think so and they can all see combat.

For "leisure"? What exactly do you mean by leisure? If you're asking if marines get a license to carry, no.

Every marine is a rifleman before anything else. Even the photographers are clearing houses in Iraq. Why do you think boot is so tough?

If you live off post, you can most definately have a gun
If they're on base they have to be registered into the base armory, but people who live off post have zero restrictions
However individuals CANNOT bring their own weapons to any deployed location as that has popped up as a myth in recent years

If you're talking about buying a personal weapon, go for it. You just have to get it registered on post at the mp station. If you live in a barracks, idk, you'll have to look into your unit policy, ask your nco's about it. I don't now what that other guy was talking about though, personal weapons in the armory is a no go, my armor found one in the armory a few days ago and she took it home. If you just live on, on base housing, like I said just register it and you'll be good. If you live off post you've got nothning to worry about.
