I was a Catholic but not anymore. My favorite saint was Maximilian Kolbe. He was known as the Apostle of Auschwitz. He died during the Holocaust which killed 10 million people (including six million Jews). He took another man's place when ten men from his cell block were to be executed. He suffer three weeks in a starvation bunker without food or water. The Germans injected acid into his bloodstream. In 1980's Pope John Paul II declared him to be a saint because Kolbe was a national hero to the Polish nation. I would say a prayer to Kolbe for courage every time I step onto a wrestling mat. Check out the link below. More of Kolbe's story is there at this link.

St Agnes , a young virgin was 13 when she was martyred. Having pledged herself to virginity as a bride of Christ, no amount of persuasion would cause her to marry the governor's son. The governor had a naked Agnes dragged through the streets to a brothel. As she prayed, her hair grew and covered her body. Although spared the indignations of the brothel by an angel, she was later decapitated.
OR
St. Wilgefortis the Bearded Female Saint
According to the narrative, sometimes set in Portugal, a teen-aged noblewoman named Wilgefortis had been promised in marriage by her father to a pagan king. To thwart the unwanted wedding, she had taken a vow of virginity, and prayed that she would be made repulsive and in answer to her prayers she sprouted a beard, which ended the engagement. In rage, Wilgefortis's father had her crucified.

St. Camillus. He was a professional soldier, a gambling addict, and a street fighter. He was tall and muscular, very much a tough guy. But he converted, and began to feel a need to work with people who were sick and/or injured. He was a pioneer in battlefield medicine, and helped build many hospitals. Because of his example, it gives me hope that I, too, can change my life for the better.

St. Peter, who is also my personal Saint from confirmation.
Besides being a leader, he was the biggest screw-up AFTER turning to the Lord. He was always putting his foot in his mouth, but he also always bounced back. He denied Jesus, but Jesus forgave him.
He shows me that you do not have to be perfect...only believe in Christ, and try your best. If you fail, or if you go the wrong way, Jesus will help you turn back to center.
Amen!

St. Joseph and Mary. They are very powerful intercessors. They were very close to Jesus. They are satan's worst enemies next to God and maybe the angels. They have great virtues. They were humble and charitable. They loved Jesus and God very much. They are very helpful in times of difficulties. They were good parents and role models. They will protect the family from the attacks of the enemies of the families. They obeyed the will of God. I think they are the favorites of Jesus.

Saint Ignatuis of Loyola.
In his youth, he was a mercenary, womanizer, and liked to live fast.
He became fascinated with the faith of the church and became a priest. He founded the Jesuit order of priests. Huge legacy in that order.

Drew Brees is my favorite Saint because he has matured a lot over the last couple of years. He passed for 4418 yards last season. He only interests me slightly.
