You won't get any bonus until you successfully finish every school you need to go to. Then when that is complete you need to check into your first command. Then you need to make sure the admin/finance people that take your record know that you should get a bonus. You need to have your enlistment bonus paperwork in your service record, if it isn't there, no bonus. Go see the admin/finance people to check the status of your bonus. I wouldn't wait longer than 5 weeks to see your money.

You have to graduate AIT first. Then you have to provide MOS orders to your unit so they can process the bonus. I'm active, and it was a while ago, but I think it took about two weeks after I turned in the bonus paperwork. They tend to pay the smaller amounts without issue, but not the larger sums.

And you believed them? Some get the bonus, some don't. Just depends who you know and who is willing to get off their big doughnut eating butt, especially the Arkansas Army National Guard, to get you your bonus. If you don't hear any thing in a few months, then call you state National Guard Inspector General.

you must complete all thetraining laid out inth econtract. for a staright enlistemnt bonus, this typically means basic training. once you return to the unit, you submit the paperwork. it can take 3-6 months before you see the bonus though.

I'd like to add, sometimes it takes longer than its supposed to - to get that bonus....

We didnt get ours until around 6 months after we arrived at our first duty station. That was a long time ago though, I suppose things can change... just remember this phrase,

"hurry up and wait..."
