A sense of community...a sense of being with people who believe as we do etc. But keep in mind that religion and a personal relationship with God are two very different things. When people get caught up in a particular practice or tradition instead of listening to God with their spirit...they get into trouble.

Religion represents faith and morals or what we believe is true and good. We want to be faithful, true and have good morals. Most people want that for their families as well. We learn more about our religion and how to have the sterling qualities it teaches by practicing our religion. Practicing religion can be done quietly, even silently. It doesn't always have to be loud and garrulous.

We should not be "practicing a religion". We should be following God's will in our lives, and glorifying Him.
God has no religion, no denomination, only a covenant with His creation to return them back to His family through the propitiation of Christ...

People who are religious believe that practising their religion, ie. going to church, worshipping etc, is an essential part of their belief. Personally I do not feel the need to practice or take part in any rituals, but that is my opinion and choice, I believe that God will listen to me wherever I am and I do not follow the bible, but others do and it is incredible important to them - that is a far reaching question you have just asked!!

We practice our religion to be obedient and to get better at it.
Plus it helps me make it thru the day w/o hurting myself or somebody else.

Different religions have different views and varying reasons but for the most part its to show respect to the one we believe in. we show that we honor him, respect him, love him, humble ourselves before him. sometimes its because we want to show other people what we believe in; to be an example. maybe to become better people or to gain knowledge. i hope that helps.

I don't have a religion.
I got Saved and have Reality.
If EveryBody on the Earth cept' me would dissapear, I would still Love GOD.
Why?
Cause GOD Loved me First!!!
And, I would be a very lonely person too, Till I went Home to Heaven.
Jesus was lonely too, nobody was Born-Again while HE walked the Earth.
No Place to lay HIS Head. (Rest)
You can find Rest among a bunch of Family!!!
Ditto..............

conformity, people need guidance, sometimes people are left out when they are older and need to have a shoulder to lean on and religion helps people feel comfortable.
