Your question is not clear.
The new sibling, is it out of wedlock. Why no mother.
Any way the child of 7 needs more protection, love and affection, at this stage.
Be informed that even a small child can get hurt psychologically, if ignored.
Be brutally truthful to the child and stay on course always.
If your love and affection is truthful and permanent, i am sure the child will understand.
My Blessings.

What psychology says that U should tell your son or daughter whenever you are pregnant right from the beginning(from first month of your pregnancy) You also give him maximum details whenever he/she asks questions about the new born baby and keep him with all the information, so that when U deliver he/she will be ready to accept the child as brother or sister. So inform him well in advance to receive the baby and accept as his brother or sister, All the best, Yours VRVRAO

Tell the child a few stories with similar setting, starting with Cindrella's and Snowwhite's and Sleeping Beauty's, gradually closing in getting to the themes nearer the reality! See how the child is taking it , and then gradually break the news: take your time!

Well tell him or her that she has a brother or sister but it is daddy's baby and his wife or girlfriend. Just explain and let him orher know that mommy and daddy still loves him or her and that that will never change.

well if the couple is still together and are planning to stay together hereafter too then you can tell the child that probably there are some kids in this world who really need a father as good as his/hers....that's why God granted this kid to his/her father....
if the couple is not planning to stay together then drop 'good' from above mentioned line...

Just tell him. I don't think a 7 year old will look at you with judgemental eyes like some adults would. You're his mom so he will just accept your answer.

No problem. Children are wiser than parents and in particular than father as fathere's only aim in achieving sex from different women. Is not shameful if he has not legally married to different women?

At 7, he/she will understand a lot. But I agree, we need more info. Are mom and dad still together?
Very difficult, so sorry.
