It is because they do not have the answers. How can they participate in any sort of intellectual conversation when they do not know answers to basic questions they know will be asked of them?
To avoid this predicament, many will simply ramble on about the unproven facts that have been drilled in their minds.

Because they (born-again or not) don't know how to openly discuss God to both Christians and non-Christians. Most Christians are very, very defensive and end up shutting down people. They don't want people to be "intellectualizing" God (what a vague way of describing things). Therefore, deep thinking is generally looked down upon and equated as not Christian-like. They are very used to having people (ie. pastor, minister, or priest) think for them. Ironically, some choose to send their sons/daughters off to seminary schools, where lots of theological discussions occur. Only the select few are open to discussion.

Well Fireballs..you sound very credible..so i like your picture of a clown..but most Christians I know don't make excuses for anyone..including God...we just discuss God after services on Sunday and during Bible Study....

who could make an excuse for God? I think God speaks very well for Himself and don't need me to speak for HIM..it just that most people just don't listen..that is all
I don't argue religion or politics..those are my rules

some people are just narrow minded and instead of just saying what they know they take it personal. not only that this is a forum it's not like we are in a room talking. Things can be takin the wrong way sometimes in the chatting areas etc............ As far as making excuses for God i agree with another response "he speaks well enough all on his own" lol Peace to you clown dude

I think many "Christians" don't bother to read and study their Bible and search for answers. They go for their "weekly feed" on Sundays and that's good enough for them.

Also many who have the label "Christian" are told to "just believe" what they are told and have given up thinking for themselves. Thinking could lead them to doubting, and maybe "losing their faith" and as a result the salvation their church promises.

I would say the number of REAL Christians on this site are very few. So, keep your eyes open for the few who are willing to discuss things intelligently. You may not always AGREE with their answers, but I am sure you can spot those who take you serious.

Because they have to make excuses to believe God exists before they can even discuss God.

Why does it seem like many non-christians are challenging God and christians instead of just discussing God?

If a police officer confiscates a gun from a criminal does that mean he's to blame of stealing? No, he's accepted via the regulation to take that action. If God's human beings stoned to death a criminal does that mean they have been to blame of homicide? No, they have been authorized via God to take that action. in spite of the certainty that God's regulations are no longer prevalent on the instant, this does not justify your assertion that there is a contradiction between Exodus 20:13 and Deuteronomy 13:10. The death penalty remains in rigidity on the instant. ====================================== Edit: this is why this is significant set up precisely what God demands of his worshipers on the instant. this is a "religious" war authentic worshipers work together in, no longer a actual one. i'm attentive to religious businesses employing God to justify all kinds of atrocities from the crusades to the inquisitions to 9/11. None, and that i repeat, none of those atrocities have been subsidized via God.

Could you add an example Please?

PS: In our discussing of God, in whom we have to make no excuses for. He's very capable of taking care of Himself.

Think about it? A cross of wood, could not hold him. and a tomb of stone could not prevail. And no human hand could swing a hammer hard enough.

Because three day later just like he said he would (Destroy this temple "his body" and in three days "I" will rasie it up.

Speaking of excuses. I wonder what some peoples excuse will be on Judgment Day?

They want be able to us "I didnt know"

Maybe they excuse their arrogance at assuming their vision of God is absolute and beyond discussion.
