Isnt this the type of advice we should be giving our children who have come from knowing everything to knowing almost nothing. Having been a child I can easly see how alot of children today could see this world as "hell" so shouldnt we do our best to convince them that it does get better the older and wiser you get? The fact that inorder to get wise you must have first been a fool. The fact that life on earth may never be heaven on earth but just because it could look like hell on earth does not mean you cant raise a lil hell and bring it closer to heaven?

I was going to say "Nothing, I'd just give him a glass of ice water", Then I read the rest of the question. Hey, what can I say? I enjoy a good joke the same as many other people on here. :)

I agree with you 100 %. I'd follow that up with somethng like. "Your idea of what Hell is for you is someone else's idea of Heaven for them". Some people get lemons and complain about them, others just make lemonaide. One person's trash is someone else's treasure. Just take what life gives you and make the BEST out of it that you can, that's ALL anyone can do.

Looks like you somewhat answered your own question.
You don't want to scare them but you don't want to hand them a false sense of security either . I believe in treating them like adults with special needs for guidance and freindly advise works best when they reach their teens rather to much disciplinary supervision for they will oft time rebel if not befreinded. heaven and hell on earth ;it's called life and it's only as good as the effort and knowledge one can apply.
like you speak of being a fool there is experience the best teacher but the major obstacles can be alleviated through
learning in advance to minimise the ramifications of making mistakes that may be irreversible so teach your children well their parents hell did slowly go by as the song says and pass on what you can to next generation that they may advance beyond the prior generations. Buddha taught life is suffering and gave prescriptions in moral conduct that help to lessen the pain . good luck, learn to enjoy life and peaceout

I say "Good luck, son. Keep your guard up and stick with your squad mates. We older veterans got your backs over here so you can concentrate on your job over there in the sandbox." Combat patrol - that's the closest to Hell any of us ever gets. Be thankful it ain't you out there humping a rifle and gear in the desert heat.

the world is not hell. Don't give your children that view of the world by implying to them that it is. The world is awesome and what it ends up being to you depends on your mindset not on the events that you go through
