It didnt hurt too much but it wasnt pain-free either. The piercing process itself was over before you could feel anything but the swelling kinda hurts and it's annoying because ur tongue feels like it doesnt have enough room in your mouth. After getting through 4 days of swelling, you'll be glad you did it and you'll love it. Afterwards you'll know that you shouldnt have thought about the pain so much because it was no big deal :)

Actually the piercing in itself doesnt hurt..I didnt know it was over til the guy said I was finished the clamp they use puts alil pressure on the tongue thats it.......HOWEVER the days following is when your tongue swells and u can not eat solid foods is when it HURTS! As soon as the swelling goes down its fine...You cant use a straw the first week after gettin a tongue ring the kind of force can split the tongue so on and so forth.....

there are pros and cons to doing it. it hurts just as much as a normal piercing. the only thing is you can feel it going through the layers on your tongue. the tongue is one of the fastest healing muscles on your body. however you'll wear down the enamel on your teeth

Ok the first night you get it you will be so excited and so pumped up it really wont hurt. But when you wake up you will be in pain. Eat plenty of ice, stock up on ice cream you will need it. Stay away from hot messy foods(ie. chilly cheese fries) I'm telling you from experience! Give it about a week and you will be OK. Remember some people will heal quicker than others. And clean it regularly....Listerine is your friend.

The after part hurts cos the tongue is getting used to this big metal bar that's just been shoved through it.
But it'll pass, don't worry. Treat yourself lots of teas and soups and some tylenol if necessary, and you'll be okay soon after.

If you were my daughter, I'd tell you to forget it. For one thing, it looks stupid, but more importantly, you stand the risk of infection as well as pain. Why on earth would you even consider it?

Sort of like asking how painful stupidity is. For this, not painful enough, unfortunately.
