Well first of all there is no such thing as being addicted to marijuana, its all in your head as it does not have anything in it that will cause you to become chemically addicted to it so therefore it is a mental addiction not a physical one, so if you want to quit, quit! Now as to what you should do, well, I would get a lawyer, and not some wet behind the ears public defender either, get yourself someone who has experience with drug charges. Try contacting NORML for a list of recommended defence attorneys in your area. Say nothing to the police after this point and admit nothing sign nothing until after you have spoken with an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney from the list then take a public defender and get him to stretch it out to give you time to prepare a pretrial report on your activities and at that point I would sign up for a drug rehab program so that it looks good for you in court. Ya I know, the law sucks but it is the law and if you chose to exercise your right to Civil Disobedience you must be prepared to suffer the consequences. You know what they say-"Don't do the crime, unless you can do the time!" This is the route to go at this point though-get a Lawyer!

Get a smart lawyer who does only criminal defense. Talk to several of them, and pick the one who can tell you about similar cases he (or she) has handled where he has gotten a trafficking charge dropped to simple possession.
The quantity doesn't sound that high, but it was the bags & scale that probably got you the trafficking charge. Many states don't have specific quantities required for a distribution/trafficking charge, it is a judgment call by the cops & DA.
But I'm not a lawyer. So go get one!

Lawyer up. What else can you do? Plea bargain down.
And dude, for the love of Mike, stop doing such stupid things. Even if you're an addict, that doesn't mean you have to carry that many grams, AND bags, AND a scale. Come on, man.

Not buying this.
23 grams here is a misdemeanor. If I was in a good mood, I'd probably just cut you loose with a ticket.
No way I would consider trafficing charges.

Hire a good lawyer. Getting advice from anonymous strangers when you've been charged with a crime is a bad idea.
