I try to be, but it doesn't always work. There are just some things I refuse to accept. What can I say? I'm human. I try to keep my myself open to the possibilites but it's hard, especially as a Catholic! I love my faith and I wouldn't ever wander into a different form of faith. It's party of who I am. Why would I want to change that but it is very diffcult to live up to the standards.

In the common vernacular of open minded meaning tolerant, yes, it is good. But remember, "he who stands for nothing, will fall for anything". SO while your mind is open, be sure to post a guard at the door.

Yes. I'm very open minded to others opinions, but if they don't make a valid argument it's not going to alter my ideas. I'll even listen when I know without a doubt they won't change my mind just to be fair and hear what they have to offer. I may not agree, but it could be interesting. Also, like you said, it's tough to stay 100% open minded at all times. Even when we try our best, stereotypes or other assumptions we've been taught or picked up along the way can spoil our good intentions. Recognizing when we failed to be open minded and learning from those mistakes is the best we can do to better ourselves for the future.

I like this question. You don't have to accept/change anything in your life to be open minded. Being open minded for me means that I can listen and consider other points of view, theories, beliefs, ect. Once upon a time I said I would NEVER change my opinions on certain things. But as I have grown and matured, I have changed--for the better! Being an open minded person has made me and my life better. The only other option is to be closed minded and I would never want to be that! Hang in there!

Being open minded is more about acceptance than conversion. As a Christian, I believe that The Spirit of God is Omnipotent and manifests itself to mankind in a whole variety of ways. I look for the commonality across various faith expressions instead of dwelling on the differences.

To me, open minded means approaching new ideas or people who think differently than you openly, and not simply rejecting them because they are different. I try to do this. In fact, it is part of my spiritual practice.

Jesus said we could only enter The Kingdom of Heaven if we were like children, which to me means, in part, opening our hearts to new situations and not immediately rejecting them.

This does not mean that you and I should support immoral, unethical behavior. It just means that judging others is not what we put your faith in, but rather sharing God's love and compassion for all people.

As a fellow Catholic, I can tell you that there are some things we're not supposed to accept. The Church condemns many sinful practices, and to say that you agree with them when you really don't is also wrong. It doesn't mean that we're to hate those who do such things, but we can't approve of the sins themselves.

Stay faithful to the teachings of our Church and place your trust in Jesus' protection. You'll have nothing to be afraid of as long as you continue to walk in His footsteps and obey the teachings of the Church which He founded.

yeah I'm probably the most open-minded person anyone could ever meet. I do keep my mind open to the possibilities of everything that goes on in life. I don't judge by race, religion, orientation or anything else.

Being open minded is good. So is being loyal, as long as we are able to recognize that our particular religion or whatever has human flaws. It's good to be open minded enough to learn about what others believe, and to respect it, it doesn't mean we have to agree or forsake what we believe. I do believe we should be willing to change in our beliefs, even if they go against what a particular church or religion teaches.

Yes, I consider myself open minded....I'm fine with what you are saying...look at your Catholic faith as your foundation, continue to practice, and grow from there.
