Weren't some of the Iams products on the recall list a while ago? I'm sure they stores got rid of them (or they're SUPPOSE to) but you might want to call the vet and ask. We use Science Diet, Purina One Urinary Tract, & whatever else.

My cat threw up when she ate most store brands. Turned out she had an allergy to chicken, which is in almost every cat food. I switched her to a lamb-based cat food and she was much better.

The pet food recall dealt only with wet foods, but some Iams canned foods were among the recalled items. I've switched my two kittens to Innova, which is supposed to be the next best thing to a raw food diet. They both love it and their coats are really soft and shiny. Innova gets its ingredients fresh off the farm and manufactures its own food, so no odd ingredients from China.

My suggestion for your cat, if the vomiting persists, is take him or her to a vet. You should have some diagnostics done before you make any major changes. Your vet may have some good suggestions about alternative diets, if that's what is needed.

usually vomiting is from a problem with digestion (and from cleaning / eating their own hair), not the food.

Brush your kitty often, there are hairball remedies ( i found my cat loved vaseline! which is a really cheap remedy).

Be prepared for this to happen; it's common. And be sure NOT to scold kitty.. .they totally won't get the problem. It's awfully unpleasant for kitty. Not to be too gross, but think about what happens when your digestion system isn't working so well.

I don't know about that kind of cat food but I would buy Science Diet. Its really healthy, tasty, and makes the cat look great.
